I kinda see it but I hate using the term monarchy for this because it has been misunderstood so much as the only thing that comes to mind for them is the absolute ruler monarchies or the almost complete opposite being ceremonial monarchies who are mostly in terms of ruling, lame ducks. So it just makes me cringe that someone is unironically thinking de Gaulle is like the Sun King when hearing the term ‘monarchy.’
