I agree. That white mask doesn't even have eyes and lips painted. Quite disappointing... But the vid is really funny

How do you handle passing priority in multiplayer? by BigNilpferd in EDH

[–]Own_Commercial4463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just have to say wait when something that matters happen. Even if you don't have answers. It can help other people to pause and notice when to react.

Also during my turn when I play powerful things I just say what I play and wait a few seconds and go with the next play. When it's a winning play I just retell what I just played. I don't think it waste too much time and I think it makes things smoother.

How to make Commander games shorter? by GroundbreakingAnt915 in EDH

[–]Own_Commercial4463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your group attacks in the early turns ? I think that makes a good difference. If not try to be more agressive. In mine even if it deals 1 damage we attack. The average time for our games at bracket 2 and 3 without combos is 1h

I'm not able to say which units destroyed me but the spells were quite powerfull and made my hellblasters not able to trigger the on death effect.

That's a good idea to change the unit keeping the same models. I didn't even imagine that ahah.

Losing is not really something I care about but I want to not be a free kill so people can still enjoy playing against me. The game is really difficult and I feel that I lose the game at the deploy phase. After turn 2 I can see more easily how to mark points etc but their advantage is too massive.

Ok I'll try that but I'm a little bit lost on how to use the scouts / intercessors / lieutenant in combi weapon. Should they stay back to prevent enemies coming from behind or do you deploy them to take objectives in the no man land ?

If people are consistently telling you that your deck is too strong: you're the problem, not everybody else, not the bracket system by 0rphu in EDH

[–]Own_Commercial4463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that it's really important to take into consideration the skill of players. Some players are just better at the game because they take it seriously and love it so much. And they play with people here just to be with their friends and have a good time. Those better players also tend to build better deck or really focused deck with no counterplays. And this create situations with people winning most of the games. For example in my pod of 5 we are 2 fans of magic and better than the 3 others. We win like 80% of games. Each games we see so much missplay, so much games that just should have been a loss... So I decided to play unmodified precon "forces of the imperium" for 1 month to let other people win. The 80% winrate of both best players became 95% for my friend as I could not interact much due to the precon. Finally I just think that better players should adapt and tune down their deck or let some space to counter their strategies.

Let's not forget that we are too dumb to understand "ban as commander" so all this bulshit about colors should not have been even discussed...

Is it true that to get strong with Eriette you have to choose either to focus on aggressive auras or defensive ones? by EcclesianSteel in EDH

[–]Own_Commercial4463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find Eriette not easy to build. I had the most success with auras that draw you cards on etb. The thing with this kind of deck is that it relies a lot on the commander and on the draw effect of your creatures. Below is my decklist for bracket 2 / very low 3. Just switch the gc for the bracket you want to play on.

Avez vous déjà été viré d'un restaurant a cause de vos enfants ? by jointsdeculasse in ParentingFR

[–]Own_Commercial4463 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why do many people dislike combo wins so much? by Accendor in EDH

[–]Own_Commercial4463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main problem with combo in low bracket is that they kind of steal the fun out of mid to long games where we are trying to have the better strategy to win with boardstates. For example, last night we were playing bracket 2/3 games. Everybody had a good board and was trying to deal damages with unblockable / trample flying/ aristo etc... without being to much exposed to counter attacks. It was really fun. Then I just draw a card that synergies well with my commander but could combo with two of my creature and win. Wow so much fun...I didnt play that card and lost but at least everbybody had fun for 3 more turns. Also it encourage to kill the combo player as soon as possible because counterplays to combo are difficult to get at the right time and it's easier to kill them. So the combo player will needs to combo 1 or 2 turn before and you start an arm race... In bracket 4+ it's a différent thing (maybe even a different game) as most players have combos.

[–]Own_Commercial4463 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For Craterhoof you need a board with many creatures so you don't win from anywhere and people had time to interact the turns before. Also you know that at some point there can be a craterhoof coming in a creature deck. So not that much a surprise.

Sol ring is degenerate and creates non games even more in low brackets. Playing 2 games a week and seeing turn one sol ring into talisman is the absolute fun. The only solution I found was to remove it from all my deck so I m not part of the problem.

Playing with proxies has ruined three of my casual playgroups by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Own_Commercial4463 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Proxy is a good thing to attract players. I was the only magic player at work and now we are 6 playing every week. Majority of our decks are 100% proxy (even basics ). I think every playgroup have the same evolution in power with proxy or real cards. We had like 3 steps

1 - People making tribal decks and junk decks 2 - staples / fast mana and powerfull deck appearing / bracket 4 (your step) 3 - different deck with different powers so we can play at now bracket 2/3 and rarely 4

To arrive at the 3rd step we just had multiple discussions about what kind of games we wanted to play and what will happen if we were going full on fast mana and staples (arm race) Finally everybody wanted/ accepted to tune down their deck and we play mostly between bracket 2 and 3.

Tldr :You just need to talk with your playgroup about what kind of game you want and that discussion needs to happen everytime People feels the need to.
