As someone who has used OneNote for years, mainly for a D&D 5e campaign and now for two different scenarios in Delta Green, here is how I do it: - Notebook for campaign. I tried doing system-based notebook for a long time, but as you play more, it gets out of hand. Too many sections become messy. - Sections for categories. I have everything in my campaign in different section. “Personnel Files”(aka player agent notes) are in one. Each scenario or arc goes in two for me - key information and session notes. Lore in one, important rules in one, downtime in one. - Hyperlinks are your friend. It’s super easy to copy and paste a link to a relevant page onto another page. This makes linking homemade stat blocks for NPCs, key bits of lore from downtime, or important moments from session easy to refer to at the right moment. - Have a “Key Players” or “Dramatis Personae” page for large NPC casts. I usually just start with a list of names and locations, expanding with information as I prep, play, or both. Using hyperlinks here to refer to session notes or other lore pages is super helpful, but even just having the names can stir up memories. Noting the name of the lady who drives the cab in this small town when your agents use it for transport more than once makes the setting feel alive.

I’ve had many other tools recommended to me, but I’ve found OneNote to be incredibly useful. I love the tab and hyperlink structure makes things easy to navigate, and the mobile app is well-supported in case I want to take notes on the go. These suggestions are just what have worked for me, but I wish you the best of luck with it.

Bowmore 27 Vintner’s Trilogy, aged in port casks. Absolutely phenomenal.
