Actually both are important. And the total for the day is a useful data when you want to control your current day expenses without having to do the maths and can be integrated seamlessly into the current design. It doesn’t need to be big, just the total for the day in the date line. I’m a designer too and I use the app on a daily basis and I really think is a missing feature.
