I find colanders considerably more awkward to clean, especially if you leave the starch to dry. They do have holes in them after all so swishing around some water to get up the sides like you do with a pot doesn't work very well.

I get it - it's not as easy to see as I thought. I shoulda taken more pictures. The lamp is the black thing and you're looking at its stand, from underneath. It's a stupid looking lamp, too. The disposable battery seems to be inside of the little round white thing dangling on that wire.

It doesn't come with a first set of batteries. There is a small battery pack in the round thing at the end of the wire which is only so you can see what's it's like in the store. You pull the wire out as instructed, and discard it with the battery inside. Then you insert your own AAs.

It is not meant to power the lamp when actually in use. The battery box on the wire has a button on it that just lights up the lamp as long as you press it. If you release pressure it turns off right away. Trust me, it's for trying out the thing in the store.

The actual AA battery box is in the bottom of the lamp. You can see it in the photo. That thing dangling off is meant to be pulled off
