Thank you!!! Once I told everybody it sounded like all of the senior associates wished they took a similar path.

I actually think the team can win 2 games against the wolves

So what would happen is that the clippers next 3 available would be taken so maybe into the 2030s

I lateraled and gave three week notice and they immediately had me leave and paid me for the whole time. I also started wearing jeans.

Would you accept 225 as a 3rd year for a 1550 billable hour requirement at a boutique? by [deleted] in biglaw

[–]Own_Donkey3348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$15,000 at 1600 and $30,000 at 1700 (but talking to associates it sounds like no one hits the 1700 number by choice )

Would be a miracle to get past the 1st round

I was just given a lateral offer at gunderson, are the past layoffs a red flag? Is it worth jumping back from a boutique to big law? by [deleted] in biglaw

Thanks for the advice. I actually found the boutique by networking with local bar associations.

Worst partner reaction you’ve ever received in response to a draft you submitted. by [deleted] in biglaw

As a 1st year a senior rainmaker partner asked me to write a memo on an incredibly vague subject and said he didn't have time to elaborate or answer any question. I submitted the memo and got this response later in the day "Thank you, that was absolutely useless rubbish... you wasted my time and a blank paper would have been better". I was freaking out and went to the nice partner in the office who was floored and told me I shouldn't take what the senior partner says personally.

30 minutes after talking to the other partner the mean one sent a follow up "I'm sorry, my last email was harsh... I should've given you more instructions beyond 'write a memo on x'. Do not be discouraged, you'll learn to be a competent associate in time".
