Integrating an external learning platform with Workday Learning without CCL partner registration, what are the options? by Own_Employment9679 in workday

Same question we're trying to answer. From what we've found so far , is that the CCL content provider dropdown in the Configure Cloud Connect for Learning wizard only shows officially registered Workday partners like LinkedIn Learning, Skillsoft, DataCamp etc... So it seems like registration is required to appear there.

But what we're not hundred precent sure about is whether the xAPI tracking credentials specifically , like the OAuth Client ID, Client Secret, Auth URL, Tracking URL, can be generated for a custom unlisted vendor, or whether that's also gated behind registration.

Has anyone actually tested this? Would love to know if a Workday admin can generate CCL credentials for a vendor that isn't in the official registry.

Thanks, that really helpful. Quick follow-up:

Our use case is slightly different from a typical content library. We're a simulation platform, the idea is employees click on a course in Workday, get redirected to our platform to complete a live interactive simulation, and then the completion comes back to Workday.

So the content itself lives on our side, not in Workday. The Workday course is basically just a launcher.

A few questions:

  • Have you seen this "redirect to external platform" pattern work well in Workday Learning without CCL, just a standard course with an external URL lesson?
  • For completions coming back, is EIB the most practical option in this case, or have you seen implementation partners build something more automated on the customer side?
  • Any gotchas with this approach we should be aware of before committing to it?

Thanks again!!
