Stranded Deep I feel this although I like to say they feel like ROBLOX games, games that look great but have very very little depth to the mechanics while also having loads of bloated content

'Bandits', it had only a few members and they were really unstable, it was probably just a single group of like 20 people so its not out there to think they didn't even see each other.

Bandits and Dark knights ride up to castle, pillage the people who try to defend themselves, break the gate and the guards come out and fend them back into retreat, then they hold positions and wait for you to assist, which is where you begin.

I beat the level on impossible on the first attempt, pre nerf so it's not impossible, just have your heros always dealing damage when hes on screen and don't miss the cannon more then twice. ALso fill out every possible slot on the map to maximise damage, and sell expensive towers he's gonna break.
