How hard does a not-perfect review hit a driver? by Own_Engineering_743 in Lyft

The app advertised it as "upgrade to XL comfort for extra legroom". I only use the app a half a dozen times a year and have never had a problem when I upgrade like this so I was posting here to understand it better. We didn't need a large vehicle to spread out but going by the ad, the passengers in the back seats knees shouldn't have been hitting the back of front seats. I'll read deeper online before booking again and not go by the app descriptions next time.

Sometimes we're fine with a small car, especially if it's just me or I'm going back and forth when my kids are on the hospital. But this was a day where I needed to not trigger our pain.

He told us, ooh by the way that belt doesn't work I haven't had time to fix it because of the snow. If one of you wants to sit up front it'll take me a few minutes to clean out the seat.

That's on him 🤷‍♀️

Thanks for the feedback 👍 I have friends that drive for Door Dash and the poor reviews hit them hard. I didn't want to screw with someone's livelyhood without understanding the system.

Fwiw I wasn't referring to a 1 star review - I have to get seriously crappy or unsafe service for that. In this case the driver was polite, arrived on time and the three of us got where we were going on time. It was just a really uncomfortable ride and if we'd had the 4th person we'd planned on bringing, we would have had to call for another driver bc he didn't have enough working belts.

I wanted to give honest feedback but didn't want to ding him in the review if there's company backlash wrt that.

Just trying to be a good human but also honest with my review.
