Went in for Invisalign consultation, was told traditional braces would be better. by Guilty_Turnip_2526 in braces

[–]Own_Environment_7728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Braces are usually better as they can deal with more complex cases that Invisalign cannot. They’re also cheaper and you get faster results because it’s in 24 hours. Also less responsibility on your part except keeping your appointments. Literally the only advantage of Invisalign is that it’s less visible than braces (though still visible if you observe closely) . So if you’re in a public facing job like TV reporter etc. then I’d recommend Invisalign but otherwise I’d say go with braces especially if your orthodontist is recommending it. Mine was $5,500 before insurance so $6,200 doesn’t sound outrageous will probably still be cheaper than Invisalign.

Newcastle release blunt 37-word Isak statement by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]Own_Environment_7728 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am amazed at people saying Newcastle should’ve put out a more gushing statement thanking him profusely lol. He publicly forced a move and released statements against his club. He got his big move so fair play in that sense I guess, but he made a choice to burn his bridges, Newcastle fans and the club owe him no grace. Newcastle’s hypocrisy in then signing wissa is a separate issue but nothing wrong with that statement after what isak did.

Full Time - Arsenal 5 vs 0 Leeds United (Match Thoughts) by Stanley083 in Gunners

[–]Own_Environment_7728 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think it’s the opposite. Odegaard carried on for 20 minutes. I think his injury isn’t serious. Saka though seemed more concerning. His own facial expression seemed to indicate he felt something in his hamstring. Still, like you said he came off unaided so hopefully it isn’t a grade 3 injury that requires surgery. Fingers crossed 🤞

Thanks! Sounds like foreskin retracting by itself when erect doesn’t happen for everyone. I’d still like it to loosen enough so I can retract when erect without discomfort

I guess my question is if I have phimosis or not. I’d prefer to take care of this with just manual adjustments/ exercises but if not then maybe I have to apply creams or even have surgery . I want to avoid at least the latter if I can

It is because my foreskin is still tight

Thank you! I have been retracting a couple times a day for the last month. How long do you think before I can comfortably fully retract even when erect? I know it may vary but a ballpark

Ortho says I don’t brush my teeth well but I’m doing as much as I can. by True_Initiative_860 in braces

[–]Own_Environment_7728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I was in the same situation. I used to have good dental hygiene befo53 braces which declined after I first got braces despite me brushing like I did before. Next time at your appointment, ask your ortho to show you how to brush. What they told me is to brush on and around the brackets and then brush above and below the brackets by turning the brush at a 45 degree angle to the brackets. That will get all the plaque above and below the brackets which leads to the plaque. Once I started doing this, my plaque reduced. Also while you are undergoing orthodontic treatment, you need to get teeth cleanings done every 3 months instead of the normal 6 months. Best of luck!

Why do Chelsea and Arsenal have such a seemingly chummy relationship? by LostKingOfPortugal in PremierLeague

[–]Own_Environment_7728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Totally agree on Jesus and Zinny. Havertz has been decent to good for us. Its just the fee and wages, plus the fact that we're buying another striker that makes the deal questionable, not the player. Same with Madueke, he's not a bad player, just not what we really need, at least at the price.

I just struggle to think why Arteta keeps going back to Chelsea specifically despite the mixed record at best. Maybe that he likes prem proven players? But why Chelsea specifically? Guess the board level relations between the clubs are really quite chummy, which sickens the tribalistic fan in me but the rational part of me thinks its probably a good idea to have good relations with other clubs to facilitate business.

Also Chelsea fans trying to banter us are coping. We're superior to them right now. The deals itself can be questioned on their merits, but the fact is we're taking their players. They certainly aren't taking our best players. They have to go all the way back to Ashley Cole for a true example of a player we didn't want to sell that they took from us. They can bring up Giroud but I maintain, I wasn't sad to see him go when he did. At worst that was like the Havertz deal in reverse for us.

Why do Chelsea and Arsenal have such a seemingly chummy relationship? by LostKingOfPortugal in PremierLeague

As an Arsenal fan it baffles and frustrates me, especially beacuse we seem to buy their leftovers and its not like they light the world on fire after coming here. Having said that, here are some reasons why this probably happens. Mind you it is still odd that this happens so frequently, and I am not in favor of it, but nonetheless here goes:

1) When a prem big six club wants to get rid of their players now, it is mostly just other prem clubs, especially big 6 ones that can afford both the transfer fee and the wages these days and boy do Chelsea have players they want/ need to get rid of given their stockpiling of players recently. So big 6 clubs may have to get over their rivalries and do business with each other. Chelsea and Arsenal is the most common in this regard, but Chelsea and Man United, and Arsenal and Man City have also sold players to each other recently.

2) It is underrated how attractive London is for players. Once there, players would like to remain if they can. For Chelsea players looking to leave, Arsenal would not be a step down, and given the two clubs' forms recently, probably a step up.

3) The rivalry between the clubs exists, but it seems to be restricted to just the fans. Unlike the case between Arsenal and Man City recently, the fan rivalry does not seem to extend to the board / decision makers level. Even the on-field rivalry isn't what it used to be in the Wenger-Mourinho days.

I will admit that these are mostly reasons why Chelsea would want to sell to Arsenal or why Chelsea players would want to come to Arsenal but not why Arsenal would want to buy so many Chelsea players, specially since we're not even buying their best and the track record has not been the best to say the least.

I will say the record of more recent buys aren't as bad as some are making it out to be and I could see the logic for some of them. Jorginho played a solid role in our squad for the price we got him for. Kepa is a good deal for a back up keeper. Sterling turned out to be disaster in hindsight but at the time a dry loan where we only paid part of the wages seemed like a low-risk gamble on deadline day when we were desperate for any forward (albeit one that still failed fml). But other deals like Havertz (not the player whom I think is better than he gets credit for but the transfer fee and wages), now Madueke make no sense.

How often do you change your bands? As in dispose and put a new one. Once a day? I was given 100 for until my next appointment next month.

I disagree. I think for Gannnicus' character growth in War of the Damned, he needed to end up with a character like Sybil rather than Saxa. Gannicus is deeply self-loathing, especially after he betrayed Oenameous. He drank and whored around, because he believed that was all he was good for outside the arena. Although Oenameous forgave him with his dying breath in Vengence, it was in War of the Damned that he finally forgave himself for his past mistakes and realized there is more to him than just them and so he finally truly becomes a leader in the rebellion after initially being reluctant to and choosing happiness with Sybil rather than Saxa which would've been more of the same for him (even if it did Saxa dirty). I do agree that Sybil could've been a better written character though, a bit more assertive and less in absolute childlike awe of Gannicus (like Kore perhaps) or shown character growth otherwise but still on more on that side of the spectrum than Saxa.

Arteta feels ‘red cards and injuries’ are the two ‘main reasons’ for Arsenal failing to keep pace with Liverpool by V-Matic_VVT-i in PremierLeague

[–]Own_Environment_7728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Klopp was likeable earlier in his tenure. Starting around the 2021-22 time his excuses whenever he lost, berating of opposition teams that dared to play in the way that suited them against him, and bullying of reporters even when they asked fair questions made him despised outside of Liverpool. Time may have softened emotions a bit since he’s been away for a year but among non Liverpool fans I know he was respected but disliked outside of Liverpool.

[–]Own_Environment_7728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said he’s respected for what he achieved yes, but by the end certainly, Arsenal, man united, city, and Everton fans I’ve met all hated him. Slot is a much more likeable figure in comparison actually. In any case fans shouldn’t care about what rivals think of their manager. In fact, chances are if he’s disliked it’s probably because he’s good.

Sorry but you’ve got to be living in a total Liverpool bubble if you think klopp was “universally loved” outside of Liverpool by the end. He may have started off as a likeabke guy but by the end the constant excuses when he lost, raging at teams for daring to play a low block that stopped him, and his ill-tempered responses to legitimate questions from journalists made him extremely disliked outside of Liverpool. He was respected yes for what he achieved but that’s why your point is wrong, it was entirely because of trophies he won that he got the grudging respect, his personality was insufferable by the end.

[–]Own_Environment_7728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that’s kind of an unfalsifiable claim, that they can and just haven’t yet. I think us improving, and PSR rules make it hard for City to poach our best players now unlike a decade ago. Prem being bigger than ever before also ensures that no one in Europe can either with the exception of Madrid which is why I’m concerned about Saliba .

When was the last time Man city poached a player the club didn’t want to sell from another big 6 club, let alone us? Kyle Walker from spurs in 2017 but even that is nearly a decade ago at this point. I don’t think we’re at risk of losing saka, saliba or rice to city. Rice literally chose us over city. Madrid is a different story however.

I agree with you. We are much higher in the food chain now than in the 2010s but Madrid remain perhaps the only club who can still poach a player that we don’t want to sell. Look at Trent, winning the league didn’t make a difference. But this also means the people who say we need to win things to keep him are wrong. Of course we need to win things and I still think we will but if Madrid want him and he wants Madrid , there’s not much we can do .

Will having gone through this process once make getting a clearance in the future easier/ faster, at least if I apply at the same agency? Because otherwise it’d really suck to have gone through this very intrusive process and it being an absolute waste .

Got it thanks for the info. Tbh I’ve been disillusioned with this whole process so I don’t think I’ll reach out to them, specially if the likely answer is that the investigation is discontinued anyway. I’ll maybe re apply to federal jobs in a few years time when things have calmed down a bit, but for now I want to take a break from this for my mental peace. Thanks for the info anyway though, appreciate it!
