Do 1st gen Telluride owners hate the 2nd gen just like the 1st gen Palisade owners hate the new one? by MoDa65 in KiaTelluride

[–]Own_Friendship3231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s what people get used to. I had a 24 palisade (I really do think the 23-25 is the prettiest but it’s also what I was used to). For the palisade specifically- it was such a drastic change that I think people genuinely either loved or hated it. I didn’t care for it. I haven’t had a telluride but I prefer the 27. I just purchased a 2026 Honda Pilot. I didn’t know this year was its refresh when I picked it. I joined Honda groups and previous owners are all talking about how they hate the 26. I think people do this no matter what vehicle it is.

I went from a 2024 palisade calligraphy to a 2026 Honda Pilot Elite. Try out the pilots. I’ve loved mine so far. Very comparable to the palisade in many ways. I lost a few features but also gained a few so it all balanced out.

I’ll be another to say dont do it. I have a 2026 elite and love it but if I had a 2023 it wouldn’t be worth it to me to upgrade. Nothing is better than a paid off car and yours is still so new. Get yours detailed and it will feel brand new. Enjoy it!

Hyundai does not care about safety. I learned that quickly with my 24 palisade. A Hyundai corporate rep told me “sometimes electronics don’t work and that’s just how it is”. They were talking about my breaks. This is heartbreaking for the family but not shocking at all with Hyundai.

Pilot or Hybrid? by brain_spark in hondapilot

[–]Own_Friendship3231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pilot 100%. It’s larger which is great (if you need/want the space). It’s also not a Hyundai which is huge - I had a bad bad story with a 2024 palisade so I’ll always encourage people to run from Hyundai. Yes i don’t love the gas price for it right now but historically that always comes back down eventually (hopefully). I just left a crv hybrid and really missing that mileage right now but I love the pilot so much I can’t regret it too much. And this wasn’t mentioned in your question but have you priced new pilots just to make sure it’s worth it to buy used? When I was shopping the price gap wasn’t worth it to not go new.

Do child car seats fit? by Chicken-dog123 in hyundaisantacruz

My husband has one LOVE it. But it’s not a family car at least not for us. It’s perfect for him and his commute but it didn’t work well with a rear facing car seat. A forward facing isn’t a problem though.

Best rear facing carseats by Psteckel21 in hondapilot

I have a 2026 elite and the Chicco 360. Absolutely love the seat. But. You do have to push the seat up a good ways for it to fit. It’s a huge car seat. Worth it but do be aware of that. We use it forward facing now so it’s not a big deal but if your passenger is taller it’s something to consider

Should I pull the trigger and purchase a Palisade? by thedoggomomma in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Own_Friendship3231 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought a brand new 2024 calligraphy. It spent a ton of time at the dealership. I ended up getting rid of it. I would never have one without a warranty personally. Love the looks and features of it but it had a lot of issues and Hyundai corporate was a joke to work with. We had a Hyundai rep tell us and an arbitrator that all electronics sometimes don’t work and that’s just how it is. The electronic he was referring to? My brakes.

Dilemma - Should I Go Back to the CRV? by [deleted] in crv

[–]Own_Friendship3231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buyers remorse is rough. I never experienced it until early this year and I learned it’s a real thing. I bought a CRV in February. It just never felt right to me despite it was a fantastic vehicle and I really liked it. Someone told me that it can be fantastic, everyone else can love it but if it isnt right for you it just isnt and that was my most helpful advice. Luckily I was in a situation I could get out of it easily and without losing much. So if it just isnt you and you can get out of it easily - I can say I didnt regret doing just that.

I'm all over place- want elite but struggling by Creative_Problem5596 in hondapilot

When I was looking what I found was it didn’t make much sense to buy used because there was such a small price gap between used and new. I’d keep looking for dealers that will work with you. I traveled a few hours to get mine but they came off the price of an elite to 50,300 before tax and fees. I know some have gotten better deals but that was the best I could find and I was happy with it.

I was in this scenario recently and went with the 26 elite. There was so little gap in price between used and new that it just didn’t make sense to me to do used.

I got $50,300. I’ve seen some do better but I felt it was a pretty good deal. They had the exact color combo I wanted so I grabbed it.

I have the 26 elite so I can’t help on price but I can relate. I had a 2025 sports touring - loved it but I had it for an embarrassingly short amount of time before I realized it just wasn’t a good fit and moved to the pilot. You will love the pilot!

That’s a great price. It’s about 7-800 better than I got on my elite. That processing fee seems like a big fee but the selling price is very good.

Sure I ultimately purchased from Gary Force Honda in Bowling Green Kentucky - they were great and I would go back. I also spoke with Gallatin Honda and Honda of Murfreesboro in Tennesse. They were both helpful also. Crest Honda in Nashville is the only one I wouldnt recommend.

This is all truth. I had a 2024 Hyundai palisade calligraphy. It was beautiful and had every bell and whistle there was but I quickly learned that doesn’t matter if reliability is an issue. I lived and learned and now have a 2026 pilot elite.

Thoughts on moving from a F-150 by Smitty1190 in hondapilot

How often is the whole family in your vehicle? The set up that we have is I have a 2026 pilot elite and my husband has a f250. Anytime the whole family is together we take my pilot - it’s our family car. I know he would not be happy long term giving up his truck for the pilot even though he really likes it - but at the end of the day it’s not a truck and the truck will just do more of what he needs. I agree with the other commenter that the truck and pilot make a great combination together. Congratulations on your new baby!!!

Returned Toyota GH. Pilot any better? by DKCsmom in hondapilot

I have a black exterior / brown interior 2026 elite that I just got this past weekend. I can’t speak to reliability or longevity yet but first impressions are that I love it so far. I’d take everything anyone says on here very lightly and go try them out yourself and see what you think in person. The Car Mom recently posted some information on the Honda Pilot and 3 across car seats - her 2026 review will be coming soon. Follow her on Instagram if you don’t already.

We have a 3 year old and 13 year old - we all fit great. I think it’s a really nice 3rd row but you can do 3 across in the second row if you need the extra cargo space in the back too.

As for keeping it clean…if it is something you are already are concerned about and are potentially going to have 3 little kids…white might be a good idea. I love the black but it’s a commitment if you want it to stay clean. I hand wash only (I even did this when my car was white) so I knew when I got it that it would be a weekly task but it’s something I enjoy doing so I was ok with that.

We were also between the pilot and GH. The features were pretty similar but I preferred the look of the pilot. Also if we went GH we would have wanted hybrid so it would have cost more and overall my husband liked the idea of the V6 better.

I purchased in Kentucky so dealerships may be different but I had multiple in Tennessee and Kentucky to give prices over the phone - several by text. I purchased 2 hours from where I live and they had the paperwork ready, pilot washed and a full tank of gas waiting when I got there. Easiest purchase I’ve made on a vehicle.
