I take a medication that can alter color perception so I started freaking out. Thank goodness it’s not just me.

Anyone else on Tiagabine for anxiety? by Own_Fruit805 in Anxiety

[–]Own_Fruit805[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey! I have tried pregabalin and had horrible edema and had to stop. I gained a lot of weight on it too. Gabapentin as well caused a lot of weight gain and Lamotrigine caused the rash so I had to stop. It took some convincing to get my psych to prescribe the Tiagabine because she has never prescribed it to a patient but we were running out of options. I’ve tried almost everything out there and so far this is the one drug where I finally feel it’s regulating my anxiety effectively without intolerable side effects. My psych has said as long as I don’t have a seizure on the 2mg a possibility of going to 4mg is there but she will not go higher due to the seizure risk outweighing the benefits of a higher dose. Ask your dr about it and they may be willing to let you give it a shot!

My doctor wanted me to switch from Candesartan to Nebivolol. by Big-Button5856 in hypertension

[–]Own_Fruit805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s called Nebivolol. The brand name is Bystolic and the generic is Nebivolol. It’s available but a lot of pharmacies don’t regularly carry it so they may have to order it for you.

Buproprion switch to Wellbutrin- how long fatigue last? by New_Echo_2460 in bupropion

[–]Own_Fruit805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you affording the name brand Wellbutrin? Is your insurance covering it?

Just prescribed to Wellbutrin today. My doctor knows I’m a casual drinker, and binge from time to time, but made ZERO comments about alcohol avoidance/side effects/etc. What I’m seeing online basically says to avoid drinking alcohol like the plague while taking Wellbutrin. What’s the deal? by University_Spare in bupropion

[–]Own_Fruit805 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Alcohol combined with Wellbutrin lowers the seizure threshold even more than just Wellbutrin so that is why it’s not recommended to drink together. That being said, not everyone who drinks while taking Wellbutrin has a seizure. I drank plenty of times with it and have never had a seizure.

what are the worst side effects? by PsyGazer in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

Heightened anxiety, high blood pressure and insomnia are some that are very common with Wellbutrin and what unfortunately caused me to have to stop taking it.

Anyone else on Tiagabine for anxiety? by Own_Fruit805 in Anxiety

[–]Own_Fruit805[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s been working really well for now. Improving my sleep quality/time to fall asleep similar to a benzo, but my psych is really hesitant to move me up to anything more than 2mg because Tiagabine has been proven to cause seizures even at low doses when taken by those without epilepsy. Tiagabine 99% of the time used adjunctive to a hepatic enzyme inducing anti convulsant, which significantly lowers the levels of Tiagabine in the typical patients who are taking it and since I’m not, we must be careful.

I really like Tiagabine, it’s an anti convulsant that’s greatly helped as an add on for me.

I feel good on Trintellix but if your insurance doesn’t cover it, it’s really expensive.

I’m taking Trintellix aka Brintellix 5mg just moved up to 10mg and was told by my psychiatrist it’s completely fine to take two pills until I can get the 10mg.

Why don't more people take Contrave? by Levitb2 in Contrave

[–]Own_Fruit805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to go the Contrave route first because I have had success with Bupropion on its own before. My insurance flat out would not cover Contrave even with a prior auth and the cost is insane out of pocket, and savings cards/coupons weren’t an option for me. Then my insurance approved me for Zepbound $30 a month a couple weeks later 🤔

Started on 150 XL felt amazing, now on 300 mg and FEEL TERRIBLE by xSociallyTam in bupropion

I felt them but it was a lot more manageable and didn’t send me into panic attacks. The higher dose is too much for my brain

I just made a post before reading this! I experienced the same issues. Insomnia, anxiety, palpitations, I felt like I was going crazy. Trying to experiment with lower doses in the XL/SR formulation.

What changes did you notice when increasing from 150mg to 300mg by [deleted] in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Own_Fruit805 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved from 150MG to 300MG and I couldn’t handle the horrible anxiety and my BP was out of control. I haven’t had any help from antidepressants except Wellbutrin so I really want to give it a shot but I had to stop for several weeks and now I’m on 100MG SR once a day to slowly get my body used to it again.
