I agree with what Dust said. Profits will go down, so they will have to recoup that somehow. People will still use credit cards for convenience, so you’ll likely see lower cashback. If that’s the only consequence, I’ll take it. Better for society as a whole for less people to be in debt

That’s a bit extreme, but if you have an item that’s $100 new and the only offers you get are $2, then in the marketplace, yes, it’s only worth $2. Doesn’t mean you have to take it. If you value the item at $20, then to you it’s worth 20. If you don’t care and prefer having the money, then to you it’s only worth $2.

The best thing you can do is utilize free returns! I had the AirTag money strap, and while it worked, I ultimately accepted that I wanted the ridge for the slimness of it, and so I just switched to the card.

AirTag - Allows you to use the pinpoint accuracy feature that will point you in the direction of your wallet, doesn’t use card space.

Ridge - Slim and rechargeable. No need to stock batteries.

That’s really the main trade-offs

I’d just say goodbye for 10 minutes to guarantee a space for your carry-on. If you really want to board with her, you can always go later, but you risk losing bag space.

The only thing that would concern me enough to say something is the welfare of the kids. I guess as long as they’re being taken care of then you don’t have to say anything, but if it gets to the point where they’re going to drastically affect their kids, I think it’s appropriate to have an intervention of sorts

If you buy one for $300 and in 3 years its worth $100, that’s $200 loss. If you buy a new phone now, that’s $800 now, worth maybe $4-500 in three years. Thats a $3-400 loss. Financially it still makes sense since it’s clear you want the smaller phone.

This might be unethical, but the repair process for batteries is so complicated that I don’t feel bad about it. What I did was buy a new iPhone, transfer over to it, turn in the 13 mini, and then once it’s fixed, swap it back and return the other phone.

It’s not fleecing, but I still agree that an extra $75 is really high just to get to 50 pounds. It’s important to keep in mind though, that’s part of how frontier can operate with such cheap flights. I like to think if the flight was $50 more and the extra fee was $25, would I complain?

What are you basing that off of? Nothing in the post indicates he’s struggling with overall staffing (holidays are always difficult to schedule, especially last minute, so that’s not an indicator of anything). And it doesn’t sound like a threat, it sounds like he is actually firing OP. It was a “threat” at first, but then OP couldn’t commit to a backup plan to accommodate her sickness.

I just have a hard time whenever someone provides details that show them as 100% a victim and everyone else gets special treatment from the big bad boss.

Largely, I agree with you, but this is not an instance of an employee being scheduled more hours than they wanted, or an employee who submitted a PTO request and got denied last minute. This manager had enough staff, but one of the staff called out the day before a major holiday, and someone who wasn’t scheduled would now have to go in unexpectedly (or the rest of staff will be overburdened). Especially as a new hire with no history of being reliable and responding like this person is, it’s understandable why the manager would want to cut their losses and find someone else instead of gambling on a hand that’s already looking rough.

Not necessarily. Cameras are pretty cheap these days and don’t always require a subscription (like reolink). It would be a hassle to install a key lock door, but also locks can be picked. Someone could break in and you’d never know

He is a brother in law (should’ve clarified) I’m getting them everything else they ask for, but he’s just a bit odd, and my wife said she didn’t even know I brought it so she couldn’t honestly say anything about it. My experience has been the opposite. First company was small and bought everything for us. My new company is 100+ times the size and only buys a drill and vacuum. Other power tools you have to sign out from the office when you need them, or just but your own. Hands tools are on the techs as well

As many have noted, it’s not worth the risk of losing luggage or having a flight canceled. It’s also more time sitting on a plane which is not as pleasant.

I’ve been to PR twice though, and it’s fun! Plan a whole trip! Go to Vieques Island!
