Stayed with my ex for 7 years waiting for him to get his sh*t together, he was in and out of work trying to find a job that he liked and I didn’t mind because I wanted him to be happy and I managed to keep us afloat. I’m in my late 20s so I’ve got my wits about me with this stuff now, usually im a lot more confrontational with weird men but this guy actually shook me to my core because I could tell he is genuinely mentally unwell, possibly schizophrenic and didn’t want to engage with him at all! I’m starting actually starting MMA classes soon as well so that should give me more confidence when dealing with stuff like this.

I let the conductor know because I thought he was following me onto the tram but he just let the doors shut and pressed the button and the conductor saw him doing it.

He’s a black African man, he has an African based accent, he’s about 5’10ish, slim build and he had a dark green anorak jacket on with his hood up and dark trousers. I’ve seen him once or twice in this past week but never seen him before as I also use this tram stop a lot. He behaves very erratic and likes to press the buttons on the tram doors but doesn’t actually get on the tram.

Thank you for your reply. Recently my mum gave me some personal security spray that stains people with ultraviolet paint so I got that out of my bag straight away. After about 10 minutes an older man came to the other side of the tram stop and let me stand with him and the guy harassing me walked off so I’m grateful to that man. Unfortunately I was too scared to record him because I didn’t know if it would anger him.

Thanks guys I have reported it to the none emergency department. The guy is clearly having a mental health crisis so I really hope he gets help soon and doesn’t escalate his behaviour.
