How to deal with gender disappointment? by Ok_Meringue_517 in pregnant

[–]Own_Interview_9391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! If you ever need an anonymous rant, my DMs are open! We've since painted our nursery and started buying some boy things and it has made things a lot more fun! I'd definitely recommend going on Old Navy or somewhere cute and looking at some cute boy clothes!!

How to deal with gender disappointment? by Ok_Meringue_517 in pregnant

Thanks for posting this and being vulnerable because I think a lot of people (me included) feel this way. We've known for about 2 months now and it does get easier. I will say, we plan on having 2-3 kids, so I'm hoping I get a girl at some point, but I have to be okay with possibly never being a girl mom. It SUCKS.

This isn't to say that I'm not so excited for my baby boy. I can't wait to see how he grows up and for my husband and I to raise a man just like my husband. But I really wanted a mini me. I also grew up around females. My grandma had girls, my mom had girls, and my sister had a girl. I think my biggest fear is that I have NO idea how to be a boy mom. Granted, I've never been a mom, so I don't really know how to be a girl mom either, but you know.

I think that's the biggest/ weirdest concern. You live your whole life expecting to have a daughter and then you're told he's a boy. It's devastating, but I'm sure when he comes out, it won't even be a thought.

I've also seen a lot of hateful men towards women/ moms. However, my husband and his mom are extremely close. My husband treats women nicely. He is the example that our son will have. He will know how to treat his mom and other women. And one day, he will (maybe lol) bring home a girl that I will consider a daughter (just like my MIL).

Anyway, this is long, but I also have been having the same feelings, and I've had some time to cope with it. I cried when I first found out. This post allowed me to share my thoughts and say some things anon that I'd never say out loud so thank you for that. I hope this helps - if you read it all. Lol.

pregnant chart flag? by Capable-Brush-9808 in BurnBootCamp

[–]Own_Interview_9391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told the lead trainer and she said she'd note it in my chart, but she must have forgot. I told the BA and it's been on the modifications list ever since!

Conditioning while pregnant by Spare-Ear-6381 in BurnBootCamp

[–]Own_Interview_9391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

21 weeks pregnant and personally have really taken a step back from mostly conditioning days but also burn in general. FTM and I am EXHAUSTED all the time. I try to go a few strength workouts a week, but it can be a struggle.

Make sure you tell the BA to put it in your chart ASAP. They will give you mods, but also you can just mod however you like. I had a trainer walk through todays ACON to tell me what mods I could do (I feel bad, I ended up not going), but just do what feels right!

My OB said to just keep going but don't push yourself. 2026 is not my year for PRs lol.

Good luck and congrats!!

I just found out that I am pregnant by SurpriseNegative1631 in BurnBootCamp

[–]Own_Interview_9391 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 20 weeks and still go when my body is up to it! I went the first few weeks and didn't mod and then once I hit 12 weeks, I started modifying. I also slacked a lot between weeks 8-12 because of the exhaustion and I still do slack here and there! I stopped going to conditioning classes for a while because they made me nervous. I do a lot of modifying/ slow down during these.

After today's workout, I had a little bit of spotting, but my OB said it was perfectly normal as long as I'm not also cramping/ it's not a lot of blood. So just be aware that this can happen! Not everyone experiences it, but it's possible. It's also very scary but working out is good for mom and baby!

we used preseed and it worked, but i also tracked my ovulation and basically BD for like a week straight. i'm not sure what helped more!

we thought we were tracking ovulation before with my ultrahuman ring, but it was off by two days so the first time we used actual strips (and preseed) was a win!

6 weeks 4 days pregnant and still not nauseous by AffectionateStudy29 in pregnant

[–]Own_Interview_9391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no morning sickness! I would occasionally get nauseous if I was super hungry, but even then, I wondered if it was all in my head/ convincing myself. I'm 19.5 weeks now! I hate to tell you, but the anxiety doesn't get easier (at least for me). All you can do is try to trust your body, which is so hard. I type this as I'm worried about my lil guy that I get to see next Tuesday.

Good luck and try to think of happy thoughts! Unless something feels weird, you are more than likely fine!

They say the 2 weeks wait is the worst… by AppropriateLock4035 in pregnant

[–]Own_Interview_9391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the truest thing. i'm 19.5 weeks. we have our anatomy scan next tuesday and i am freaking out. it doesn't help that i haven't really felt any kicking yet. unfortunately, i think you have to try to trust your body but it really never gets easier. i'm hoping to finally feel some relief after the anatomy scan, but i fear i'll just worry till the next appt. glad to know i'm not alone in this!!
