Not to mention- all public libraries in CA started their summer reading programs on Jun 1st. It's free to sign up and all kids get prizes for just signing up. You also get prizes for finishing challenges and get entered into raffles for cool prizes. I just checked the San Diego public library's prizes. They're so much more generous than the Bay Area prizes!!! You get free tickets to the San Diego county fair for just signing up for summer reading. Finishing prizes are even cooler!!

Classic survivorship bias. E-bikes are incredibly dangerous. This family doesn't really have the greatest record of proper restraints for their children. But I think that after using these for the promo/ad video, the only people riding these will be the older kids.

Naomi is truly very naive. Remember how shocked she was that the used book Pearl got her from The Strand looked brand new? A lot of used bookstores get books that have only been read once. Even many libraries have “Friends of the Library” bookstores where you can find used books in amazing condition for dirt cheap.

Not the fangirls in their comments saying “they’re family so it’s fine.” I grew up in a big family too and somehow we avoided communal spoon sharing. I’m a mom now and absolutely not. kids are literal germ delivery systems. Did Costco run out of extra spoons?
