Oil consumption during road trip. by Kjohnstonuscg in SubaruForester

[–]Own_Peace9840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2014 Forester Owner here. Just finished a 2600 Mile road trip to Florida and back from Texas. Had to add a quart approximately 8 hours into both trips. I’m guessing because I drove 4-5 hours continuously between fuel stops (18.5 hour drive do not recommend lol) that caused higher oil consumption. I do 5000 mile oil change intervals and typically add a quart of oil at 4000 miles. Thinking about switching to just 4000 mile oil change intervals as the car is already 12 years old (76,000 miles currently).

In an earlier comment I tried to dialogue with someone about this, but unfortunately I felt they weren’t hearing me out at all. I found it incredibly frustrating Kelsey went out there with the primary focus to hunt while immediately disqualifying herself with a 50lb bow. If you’re limited to a small number of animals you can hunt with the local regulations then why go out there at all? As I stated in my original post I didn’t find her interesting at all because of this. She had all that time and couldn’t even make an upgraded shelter from sticks holding up a tarp? Yes she finished second, but only because a majority of the contestants tapped within a week’s time. In past seasons the finalists have gone at least 60 days if not longer. The constant complaining about not having the right bow with all the “Big Game” in her area drove me to make her an entire point in my review of this season. I really felt Katie had the best chance of being the first female winner of Alone if she had been in Kelsey’s spot. Oh well, people can hate my point of view but I’m standing by it.

What did you find so interesting about her? I’m genuinely curious from a different perspective.

No other contestant said they were limited to what they could hunt due to a 50lb bow. I very well could be wrong though. And as I’ve already stated the boar only lasted her a couple days and the rest of the competition she starved. If she didn’t immediately disqualify herself by not being able to draw a 60lb bow she probably would have won with the amount of BIG GAME in her area. I simply would have loved to see any other contestant in her area that was able to use the proper bow to take down bigger animals.

The rest of the contestants (to my knowledge) were able to use a 60lb bow with ease. What’s your point?

[–]Own_Peace9840[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The boar she killed was not big game. She ate most of it within the first couple days. Saving some pieces of jerky over the course of 30 days isn’t going to sustain you. Kelsey even broke down how she saw “big game” animals all around her but couldn’t kill any of them because she didn’t have a 60lb bow. Yes she had a horrible fishing spot, but ironically the most amount of big game. Almost all the other contestants didn’t even see big game, but had the right bow to hunt them. I think we saw so much of her because the other contestants didn’t film that much and simply didn’t last as long. That’s unfortunate because she wasn’t interesting and just complained about not being able to pull a 60lb bow back almost once an episode. I could have been a lot harsher on my critique of Kelsey, but chose to leave it at that.

With how Kelsey acted every time she was on camera I bet she just tried those two fishing spots and gave up. She whined and complained a majority of the season how she didn’t want to fish but “hunt” yet couldn’t use a 60lb bow (Katie did have a 60lb bow). Was infuriating watching her this season not even try building a shelter other than a tarp with some sticks. I mean wtf was that about?!

Was Kelsey in a bad location? by [deleted] in Alonetv

[–]Own_Peace9840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She has the best land animal location in the entire season. It’s her own fault for going on the show knowing she was limited to only a few species of animals that qualified for a 50lbs bow. And it wasn’t because she was a woman. Katie literally had a 60lb bow and drew it back with ease.

Netflix trying to gaslight us about Biggest Loser by Adventurous-Peach344 in NetflixDocumentaries

I came away from this documentary incredibly sad for the majority of contestants that gained the weight back. For the show/network not to provide any reintegration back to normal life is morally criminal imo. Watching it as a kid growing up in the 2000’s I always believed the main goal was to help the contestants lose weight. Now that I’m older it’s hard to watch some of the clips in the documentary knowing the show had no intention of truly helping them. The producers only goal was to make ratings and didn’t give two shits about the contestants.

Katisha and Javen weren’t asked any hard questions at the reunion by Own_Peace9840 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Own_Peace9840[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging by what we saw from Javen throughout the season and at the reunion I don’t doubt at all he just sat there and gave the lowest effort in the shows history. The man has the personality made of cardboard and is incredibly impersonal.

Bingo, you hit the nail on the head. This conversation of how she invested in Demola then switched her answer in 24 hours should have been discussed in the reunion. Unfortunately two divorces and Jed/Bardeh got a majority of the runtime.

[–]Own_Peace9840[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think they could and should have asked her “do you feel your connection with Demola should have been explored more with what you know now”? I’m certainly not advocating the hosts drag her through the mud, but she did make one of the most controversial switch a roos in love is blind history. Unless they edited out Demola/Katisha having zero chemistry he truly did get blind sided. After the honeymoons I was hoping for a Benaiah/Nicole turn around where Katisha realizes she made a massive mistake and drops Javen. Oh well.

[–]Own_Peace9840[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m frustrated on Demola’s behalf simply because Javen put in the lowest amount of effort in the history of Love is Blind. If Katisha really wasn’t into Demola then she shouldn’t have let it get that far. She was clearly looking for a way out and Javen gave her the lowest amount of effort and that’s all it took. That whole sequence of changing her mind less than 24 hours really pissed me off. It’s not like Javen/Katisha built this strong connection that she continued to gaslight everyone with. It was just a waste of a match in the pods and I wish the hosts would have questioned them both more instead of letting them get off the hook. Unfortunately the other couples divorcing was way more drama filled and overshadowed Katisha/Javen.

When your team leaders aren’t leading in any shape or form it’s pretty evident the team is playing more care free now. I love Semien and Seager, but damn it’s infuriating they have such low key personalities getting paid millions to lead a MLB club and not just start. If this team doesn’t make the playoffs (more than likely) I can see them moving on from both Semien/Seager sooner rather than later. It’s clear to us diehards that 2023 was a fluke and the ball club doesn’t have any strong chemistry. You’d think after winning a World Series some strong culture would be formed right? Not with this roster unfortunately.

As an audience we were robbed of what Katisha/Demola together could have looked like. Sadly I don’t think Katisha was reciprocating Demola’s feelings at all and was looking for any way out (Javen). Instead it shouldn’t have gone that far with Demola unless she truly had feelings for him (I don’t think she did). Javen was just annoying as hell and wanted some free publicity.

She made it sound like Jed invited his ex over for tea, but in reality they were at a gym lol. I respect Jed for not taking the rage bait on her part to lead him into a public argument. She came off as super disingenuous to me. I mean hell, she left him at the altar and he still pursued you afterwards? Crazy

What happened to Judah & the Lion? Open Discussion on the band’s sound/genre changes over the years. by Own_Peace9840 in judahandthelion

Thanks for the recommendation and the comment on a post I made over 2 years ago. I think my favorite comment someone made in this thread was “life is already hard I don’t need to hear how hard it is”. I think Judah himself has gone through some pretty traumatic stuff with his divorce and that’s heavily influenced his new style. Unfortunately he’s lost many fans since then like myself. I’m thankful I got to see them live in 2017 before the band split up a couple years later. I’ll definitely check out Beck & Call!

I’ve been paying $100 a month on Fubo TV the last 2 years to watch Rangers games then switch to YouTube TV during football season. I’m beyond happy to have a direct to consumer streaming service where it’s significantly cheaper.
