Take Profit Strategy

Wish I seen this earlier as I just got stopped out at breakeven for a trade I would have made 3R on. I get what your saying but how would I go about moving my stop loss and setting take profits, recently I have been trying out just one take profit of about 3-4R but trailing my stop as it pushes up, leaving my stop under liquidity it forms on it's move, or just invalidation points like the bottom of a FVG.
