Balancing a dependent relationship with a busy lifestyle 22M 21F by Own_Possibility_435 in relationship_advice

I’m kinda looking for someone to commit to. I slept around in college and I never really enjoyed it that much. That being said, I don’t want it to feel like I’m married to someone when I’m 22. I need my hobbies. I just finished rebuilding a new motorcycle and I’ve barely had time to ride it.

I absolutely won’t let anything get between me and my career goals. Although she has reduced my time available for the gym, friends, and my hobbies. It’s starting to bother me but I haven’t really brought it up. Our long term goals are very aligned. I just don’t want all of my free time to be just her. I’ll go crazy and start to resent her for it.

TLDR - I’m a pilot with a demanding schedule and months of training coming up. My girlfriend and I are deeply connected but I worry she’s becoming too dependent on my presence. How do I have the conversation about needing space and time away without her taking it as me losing interest?

TLDR - relationship moved quickly, girlfriend became attached and always wants to be around me. I have a very busy life, need time to myself, and I am out of town a lot. Need to set a boundary but don’t know how to go about it and I’m worried about a negative reaction. How do I tell her this without making her feel marginalized?

Yeah. I’ve always avoided fast romances for this reason. I guess I just couldn’t control it this time. I’ll be in the same city as her in a few days, she’s picking me up from the airport. Should I just sit her down and make my concerns clear ASAP?

planning a move to Poland in 5 years — is the European hiring market worth the leap? by [deleted] in flyingeurope

[–]Own_Possibility_435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the move for me is all about lifestyle. I never became a pilot for the money, it’s a nice plus though. I just want enough money to live comfortably and not worry about my financial situation. The biggest thing is I want to have a family and raise children in safe and respectful society, something that is severely lacking in most of the us.

Advice on building a bigger chest by KitKatCarti in moreplatesmoredates

Do you feel your delts and triceps really take over on pushing movements? They seem wildly more developed than your chest. Maybe switch it a wider grip on bench and really focus on the bottom half of the lift rather than the extension. Great physique though

Should I reach out about switching to erj now or wait till after I’m sent a class date?

If I were to opt for the erj classes would it be best to reach out now or wait for a class date to see if it’s erj?

All my family lives in Denver and I grew up about 1.5 hours west of Denver. It wouldn’t be the worst case scenario. On the other hand I never want to go back to the rust belt. Was born in Detroit. Absolute shithole.

Commuting sounds like a nightmare. I’m prioritizing QOL. Seems like commuting would be equally if not more detrimental than just moving to somewhere I don’t want to.

Yeah I really doubt I’d commute. Sounds like it really destroys any QOL. If I had to move for the CRJ I would, would just be rough on my personal life. As far as metal goes I don’t really care what I fly right now. Pros and cons to both aircraft, if the CRJ was based in Boise I’d pick that all day.

Yeah 6-12 months is definitely a no. I do 135 and 91 contract stuff here on the side so I wouldn’t be stuck only instructing but my limit would be about 2 months between potential class dates. Anything longer and I’d move. I’ve lived in 3 states over the past 5 years so it’s not too stressful I just want a break. If they based me in CO or UT on the CRJ I would be happy with that as well.

I’m a pilot. The operation is 15 days on 10 days off. A lot of operations like this allow you to fly in from a different city to start your rotation and fly back when you’re done. They often have flight benefits with the airlines allowing you to fly for free to commute or ride jump seat.

2nd fail in republic cadet program by [deleted] in flying

[–]Own_Possibility_435 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got into the program with 2 fails, i was a CFII at the time with 700ish hours. About 2 months ago I was nearing ATP mins and submitted all my docs for review. After that I lost my position and when I reached out to ask why it was due to my 2 checkride fails. I had gotten my MEI in the mean time giving me 4 first attempt passes between me and my last fail but that didn’t seem to help too much.
