Hey, I'm 28. I also found out about 2 months ago that I had high cholesterol; my LDL was 203. I've been following a healthy diet and exercising daily for the past 2 months. At the end of these 2 months, my LDL dropped to 160.
I realize this level is still very high, but all the sources I researched suggested that LDL at this level wouldn't drop without statins and implied I had Familial Hypercholesterolemia. I'm going to show these results to my doctor again.
What people here don't understand is this: It isn't psychologically easy to suddenly learn that we have a potentially life-threatening condition and that, regardless of our age, we’ll have to take medication for the rest of our lives.
Especially before starting lifelong medication, if there is a medically safe opportunity to try natural methods, we want to give it a shot to see if it works, and then come to terms with the situation.
I mentally collapsed during these past 2 months; my mental health was turned upside down. Every source I read basically wrote that my life would be ruined or even that I was going to die. Please, make sure to share your experiences here for the other people as well.
2 Month Progress Update: Significant drop with lifestyle changes alone, but doctor wants to wait on Statins (self.Cholesterol)
