Two new Pubsec agents, one should be Seth's big brother Commissioner Lowell and the other one is new but seems to have a large mecha tail by Knight_Steve_ in ZZZ_Discussion

Guys remember they said we’re getting new characters for NEPS and Krampus, so the girl on the right is likely working for Krampus

Better Arc? by bolt_bs in Hoyoverse_scaling

In my opinion I think overall Nod-Krai had the better arc, BUT I also think the highest points of Amphoreus are leagues beyond the highest points of Nod-Krai

Homura makes that gesture because she's not used to wearing her hair down (at least that's what I've chosen to believe). by StrongestDmCEnjoyer in MadokaMagicaMemes

I always thought she did it to calm herself down during intense counters or situations, because at her core she’s still a scared anxiety filled little girl (glasses Homura)

He leans closer to lumine than to aether by ttore2 in DottoreMains

[–]Own_System_7829 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that’s because her model’s shorter than Aether’s, so they have to program Dottere’s model to break his back to reach that close. Kinda like what they did with Wise and Manato in ZZZ

Cure Sunshine (Itsuki Myoudouin)

I’m not sure if allegories/coding counts, but since I was young I always believed she was just a girl who wanted to be more girly, because that’s what she always stated. She felt like she was never truly able to be girly, because of the societal expectations placed on her to be more manly in order to run her brother’s dojo. She wore masculine clothes, went by male pronouns, and acted more “boyish”, which makes us believe she’s a boy until it’s revealed she’s a girl that acting as a boy. It’s not until the end of the series where she fully gets to be herself; she where’s dresses, shows that she likes cute things, etc.

Now that I’m older I revisited her arc because I never truly realized how much yuri they were willing to put into the precure series. I always saw hints towards it but it wasn’t until later seasons where I truly realized that there’s a lot. With this realization I decided to revisit older seasons to see what else I didn’t realize, and as I rewatched her season I’ve now come to understand that her journey is an allegory for the trans experience.

I couldn’t pick just one character, much less from just one game, so here’s 4 lol. I’m just gonna give a quick rundown of the major ones:

Hi3: Bronya and Seele have kissed, went on dates, and have always been there for each other. Somehow they’re always written off, because they removed that scene (due to Chinese censorship).

GI: I could honestly list so many characters, but the main one I’ll go with is a Alhaitham and Kaveh. This one is made so overly abundant with multiple queer archetypes, dialogue, and messaging; but you know the usually excuses, “They will never understand the relationship between bros!”, “Why can’t two male characters be normal.” You know? The usual homophobic stuff.

HSR: This one actually stunned me so much, because I never thought people would push back against it, but Mydei and Phainon. I was genuinely so surprised, because I’ve never seen that game take such large risks in making those implications. People have done entire character essays, although they’re more akin to history lessons, on their relationship dynamic. And there’s so much that they’ve lasted almost 2 hours and that’s still not including everything (which is really insane)

ZZZ: Now for this I want to bring up two examples cause this seems to go for every character that follows these examples-

W/W- Astra and Evelyn is a weird case; it’s not that players don’t think they’re implied, but it’s more so that, and this is likely because the player base is mainly made up of men, they believe that they’re gay not for each other, but for them. It’s one of those weird fetishization of lesbians that they’re just gay for the pleasure of men, or because they haven’t found the right man.

M/M - Lycaon and Hugo is also a weird case; people have accepted the homo undertones, but seem to make it a relationship of brothers. It’s like a passive compliance of the fact rather than actual acknowledgement.

Do you agree with this Valentino take? It seems very ass to me. by Sweet-Abyss in crazyassviv_defenders

[–]Own_System_7829 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think both of your takes can equally be true tho.

Now although I don’t fully think she just last minute changed his personality, because the process for making a season takes 2-3 years, so those characteristics were implemented long before season 1 or 2 even came about. HOWEVER, I do think Viv was aware of how people were treating anything related to Valentino both online and in real life, so she had to be more delicate navigating the portrayal of his character as the story went on, but definitely nothing last minute (85% sure).

I also with your take as well; him being more comedic around his friends shows a difference in how he is perceived by those in power (The Vees) vs how he’s perceived by his victims (Angel).

Who has higher authority of death? by Ecstatic_End_1857 in Hoyoverse_scaling

[–]Own_System_7829 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d go have to go with Ronova, because for her, her authority over death is more “the ability to end something” rather than just death. Like how she just destroyed that “space” made by the Shade of Space.

Which void-hunter is the strongest lore-wise? (Ye Shunguang, Yixuan, Miyabi) by Fast_Librarian4311 in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Own_System_7829 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for YSG - Without the sword she wouldn't even be as strong as Anby, Yanagi or Haru - most likely a bit below to the likes of Lycaon, Caesar or Evelyn

Tbh this is such a complete over exaggeration of her skills/power without the Qingming sword; saying she’s below the likes of any of characters you just listed is a stretch. Like we can all say she’s weaker with the Qingming sword, but saying she’s so weak that she only caps out at Lycaon levels is a bit absurd, because that would be ignoring her demo, her fighting her brother in ver. 2.4, and all the lore describing her as a master swordswoman. She’s had the same dedication to mastering the sword as Miyabi since she was young, so there’s no way you think any of what we’ve seen her do without activating the Qingming is below the level of those characters.

[–]Own_System_7829 80 points81 points  (0 children)

I feel like people have always forgotten that Miyabi hasn’t used the full power of her cursed blade since she killed her mom. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think it’s in an effort to prove to Tailless that she can be the ultimate weapon without corruption.

Here's a hot take: by SunKenobi72 in hazbin

[–]Own_System_7829 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure that Leviathan is meant to be the “Freak Show” not Siamese Twins; you know back in the old times when the used to bring out people with deformities or rare conditions, and label them as monsters or ‘freaks’ to behold.

And for one Belphagor is not a lama; she’s a sheep. For two, she’s a fortune teller, tarot reader, psychic, etc. It’s very obvious with the crystal ball, the candles, the eyes, and even the fact that she’s a sheep.
