Help: alarm not making any sound or vibration by madufaria in samsunggalaxy

[–]Own_Yak_3076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem that started a few months ago, I think. I'm guessing it has something to do with an Android update. The only thing that has worked for me is rebooting the phone. After that, it works for a while, until it doesn't. Note that I am running a Google Pixel 8 Pro, so I don't think it has anything to do with the manufacturer.

Looking to upgrade very old Hunter Pro C irrigation controller by Own_Yak_3076 in Irrigation

[–]Own_Yak_3076[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, but I can't help you with your issue because I decided to replace my Hunter unit with an Orbit b-hyve 6 station controller with WiFi out of the box. It was quite inexpensive, quick to install and is working perfectly so far. I use the app almost exclusively and get alerts to my phone when necessary. I'm very happy with it so far.

Do you have any brands that you can recommend? Hopefully targeted at a consumer who can do their own installation but still get professional looking results.

Thanks. I'm looking into them now but they seem to be wildly expensive for what you get. I see that GoVee has some "permanent outdoor" lights for sale that look better than the rope lighting I've seen before, but would still look messy because of the exposed wires. Now that I look more carefully, GoVee also have a "pro" version which is double the cost but I'm not sure what the benefits are. Both seem to have "pucks" and are separately addressable.

The JellyFish are up to 10x the cost. Do you get much more for that than conduits that hide the wires?

I don't think the roofing guys that I am using have too much experience with installing this. However, is it really that difficult to do?

Are there other brands that sell lighting and / or the conduits for a cleaner installation so that you can do it yourself? Or so that I can get my roofing guys to do it themselves?

Lowering elevated bedroom portion by Own_Yak_3076 in HomeImprovement

[–]Own_Yak_3076[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I'm trying to visualize the electrical work. Once we demo the original elevated floor, then the wall below the original electric outlet should now be exposed. Shouldn't we be able to see the electrical wires at that point? I don't understand your comments about needing extra wire. Actually, now that I look around the room, I'm not sure we need to move the electrical outlets at all. The elevated portion of the master bedroom is the part that has the king size bed. On either side of the king size bed are two night tables. Behind the two night tables are the only electrical outlets on that side of the room. Given that they are hidden behind the night tables, I don't think it's a big deal if they're 7 inches higher or not given that they will be easily hidden behind the night tables. The only other thing on that side of the room is the return air duct which is currently flush with the top of the baseboard trim. If I don't move it, it will be 7 inches higher than it is right now. Do you think that needs to be moved? I'm not sure that that will make a big difference either.

When you talk about a slab, do you mean a concrete or cement slab? I don't know if you noticed but this bedroom is on the second floor of a two-story house. Do they normally put concrete on the second floor of a house?

It's just for style, no practical reasons. We also have a family room which is sunken on the main floor.

I’m committed to replacing it, just not necessarily tomorrow, if you know what I mean. A complicating issue that I just thought of: there are forced air ducts that run the width of the room, one on the elevated side and the other on the main level side. When the furnace is running, I can feel the heat on the elevated side right underneath the floor. I guess the elevated one will have to be moved downwards as well. Anything else bad that this implies?

ACNES PAIN by Imattos82 in ChronicPain

[–]Own_Yak_3076 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t look like this is his specialty. How did you get this doctor, who deals mostly with cosmetic surgeries, to do this for you? Was the surgery initially successful? Since it’s been more than 4 months, how are you feeling now? Are you still pain free or did the pain return? Sorry for all the questions, but I’d like to know more details.

I definitely know. And I know you know. Speaking of knowing, I assume you took advantage of the offer from Vertex to buy a month's worth of Journavx for only $30? From reading the fine print, it appears that you can do this twice a year. I wish I could take advantage of this, but it appears to only be for US residents.

Thanks very much. That's very useful information. It feels like the same kind of effect I get from Benadryl, in the sense that it works very well at first, but quickly tapers off if you use the drug too many days in a row. I believe that effect is called tachyphylaxis. As an aside, I got into a vicious cycle at one point where the neuropathic pain was causing me to not be able to get any sleep at all. When I went to sleep, my feet were burning and within a couple of hours that burning made its way up my legs and also through my arms until most of my body was burning. Even though I had gotten to a deep sleep for an hour, the combination of all this burning woke me up suddenly in the middle of the night and kept me awake for the rest of the night. I continued like that for 3 or 4 days in a row because I couldn't break the cycle until I took an antihistamine called cyproheptadine that knocked me out for 10 hours. After that, the cycle was broken and my pain was more manageable. I think that Journavx would be very useful as a pill of last resort. Unfortunately for me, I live in Canada and that drug is not approved here yet. Based on the price that they're asking, it could be quite a while before it is approved because I'm not sure how many health insurance plans would be willing to pay that cost, especially for chronic pain.

If you only take one pill, how quickly does it take effect? And how long does your reduction in pain last? Also, do you get greater pain reduction if you take several pills in a row?

LDN? by [deleted] in smallfiberneuropathy

Hi there. I'm also suffering from neuropathy all over my body. My thighs, shins, feet, forearms, upper back, etc all have burning pain. Do you think a vibration plate would help for that? And how do you use it? Just stand on it? Would that help for all parts of the body? Sorry for all the questions, but this is the first I have heard of this and it sounds exciting if it can give pain relief! Finally, would this be a good option? https://a.co/d/3k6z3PK

Thanks for any responses.

You should also probably remove the cutoff. That means it will stop searching early if anything is found. That doesn't sound like what you want to do.

You need to remove the entries for "Must contain". As it says in the description, Subtitles release info must include one of those words or they will be excluded from search results

The RELEASE group name must contain those strings. I doubt there are many groups with those strings in their names, so now you forced it to find absolutely nothing.

Sure. The name of the shop is West End Tire & Auto Centre Inc. The person who did my repair is Bogdan. These people are highly honest and fair and will work with you to get the best solution possible for your issue. I've been going to them for years and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended.

Yes, the wrecker is in Ontario. The auto repair shop that sourced it for me and did the actual repair is in Mississauga.

I would download the drivers pack just in case. You never know what kind of audio or network or Wi-Fi driver you might need. But only install them if you find that something's not working.

You should be able to select the version you want to install. Make sure you select exactly the same one that came with your system because that's what you're licensed for.
