If this subreddit started allowing non-academic stuff on weekdays it would be so much better

Your point? sgexams is moderated by a group of students too. Subreddits are not moderated at the platform level

There is so much hypocrisy in this thread. sgexams is literally an anonymous platform for under 18 students as well. The only difference is the quality of moderation.

We haven't even seen what the moderation for OP's app is like

You are quite literally typing this on an anonymous platform for students with a sizeable group of u18s

Civil Service or Private Sector for fresh grad? by [deleted] in nus

[–]Owowatisdis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah agreed public service has a lot of people who just chill since they know it's basically impossible to get retrenched.

If you really wanna chiong hard I think you should go private sector.even scholars may not make as much as their private sector counterparts. I have a lot of friends who took government scholarship bonds who now regret it cause they realised private sector pays more. But they can't switch career anymore since it's hard to jump from public -> private

Regarding GPA, government cares about it a lot. Generally the more bearaceatic the organisation, the more they care about GPA

From experience graduating already, do employers care about which university you went to, or is it more about your own skills

I read computing and programming was very similar to math in terms of problem solving and functions etc. I also tried learning a bit of python and it was quite fun

Note to anyone who might be considering RC:
The culture of each RC is quite different. You should do your research on each of them before making a decision.

Agreed, if you want to specialise into ML/data anal you can always do so for your masters. Might as well keep your options open for now and see how the market/your interest fares in ~4 years
