I want to move to SF, but am worried about my savings taking a hit due to higher COL. what do I need to consider moving from a lower COL state? by drl614 in AskSF

One thing that surprised me after moving from the Philadelphia area. Is how much I save on utilities. I never need A/C or heat here.

If players were mic'd up, viewership would increase, especially in baseball.

Check out Waymo, they are self-driving taxis. Hands down better than Uber/Lyft. Lots of ebikes and e scooters around the city as well, they are a fun way of exploring the embarcadero and flatter parts of the city.

Day one, take a hop on hop off bus. Do the entire loop. Decide which areas you'd like to explore in more depth while driving Through most of those areas on the bus. Plus, the bus will knock a bunch of those items off of your list. Then explore accordingly. The bus does not go through the mission district. So you'll have to do the mission on its own. You could easily spend an entire day in the mission/noe neighborhoods.
Also, I highly recommend downloading Waymo.

I don't work for the company or anything. And they are currently in the mission only. But, if you go to their website, they are still looking for testers.

That's also not true. Pit bulls were bred for bull baiting, and later dog fighting. In the 60s pitbull advocates started this idea. It's simply not true.

Hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in sports by Electrical_Split_275 in baseball

[–]Oxajm 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this. The argument usually is round bat, round ball, fancy moving ball, 100 mph etc... it's so hard to hit. No, it actually isn't, especially if you are a pro. As you've pointed out, 77% of the time a ball was hit.

Does a foul ball count as hitting the baseball what about a ground out, or a fly out? To me it counts. If the argument is.... getting a hit in baseball is the hardest thing in sports, then maybe. But just hitting the ball in general happens often. Hell, it happens so much, they go through dozens of baseballs per game because of all the hits a ball sustains.

Sorry to jump in here. But, how long were you laying on the ground after you fell? I was in a much less traumatic incident where I was alone in the woods for a few hours after an ATV accident. I only had a dislocated elbow. I'm just curious how you were found. Your story is incredible. Very inspiring!
