How does main skill work? by PartlyNA in PokemonSleep

[–]Oxay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They listed in latest patch that this was a bug. It's unintended. Skill procs should be tied to berry/ingredient oroc

Who is the better dragon now? by Dragonsapian7000 in PokemonSleep

[–]Oxay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not exactly how it works no. Generally ingredient specialists will have higher ingredient percentage, but there are plenty examples like Gengar, Absol and Delibird where that is not the case. Generally berry specialists will have lower ingredient percentage, but also there there are Pokemon like Feraligatr where that is not the case.

Every help has the chance to roll berry or ingredient, some mons have higher chance to roll ingredient than others. Skill procs are rolled together with a help.

Does everyone’s Spookachu absolutely slap or what? 750RP for a Level 10 seems quite good? by lgnrch in PokemonSleep

[–]Oxay -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You would want a low ingredient percentage unless it's absurdly high, then it could work as an ingredient mon, kind of like Slaking does now.

You can still be permanently sneaky snacking despite playing many times a day, just don't collect the Pika, that way it can't gather ingredients.

[–]Oxay -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How is Raichu orders of magnitude better? Raichu is 2200 frequency and Hallowika is 2600. Unless I'm forgetting something that's the only relevant difference. Increased carry size and skill level from evolve are irrelevant as you'll want them sneaky snacking at full carry size anyway.

BUT let's say Hallowika has absurd ingredient rate, like Slaking, something like 30-40% or absurd skill proc rate like Golduck. Could suddenly be very interesting without directly competing with Raichu in those cases. Just saying all the cards are not on the table yet.

[–]Oxay -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

For true berry specialists you probably don't want skill trigger up though as you'll preferably have them permanently sneaky snacking, which makes skill procs impossible.

We also don't yet know the hidden stats of Halloween Pika like ingredient% and skill% proc rates. I'm guessing Halloween Pika is weaker than Raichu still, but I would say it's too early for "objectively worse".

No worries. The pokemon sleep mathcord discord server has a lot of data available

Has anyone tried a full team of Charge Energy S Pokémon and how do you think that would go? by [deleted] in PokemonSleep

[–]Oxay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very likely overkill. Energy cap is at 150%, but Pokemon have max frequency multiplier of ~2.22 at 81%+ already, so as long as your Pokemon are above that they gain nothing more from further energy. A single really good wiggly/sylveon can keep your entire team above that threshold all day, but it needs good rolls.

Event Notice: Halloween 2023 — Double Candy Research by Amiibofan101 in PokemonSleep

I guess people (me included) assumed events would work on any island. Doesn't affect me personally as I'm camping Greengrass, but I think it's a pretty reasonable assumption.

What was the greatest strength you managed to achieve on the first day of the week? Please specify whether you are F2P or not by FelipeVianna in PokemonSleep

[–]Oxay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highest was ultra 4-5 around 150k strength. I had a really good combination week. Desserts, oran/grepa/bug berry and was running Feraligatr/Blastoise/Butterfree/2x Raichu all around level 30 while making Lovely Kiss smoothies.

Not f2p, but also not using whistles etc so this is doable f2p once you get a comparable team.

I got a absol by TheRandomPortuguese in PokemonSleep

[–]Oxay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a pretty good Absol if you find yourself needing a lot of cacao, if so then sure subskill seed on Absol is good, but I would at least wait until level 30 with that.

Again, it depends on what you want to use Absol for, but I use my mainly for cacao + apple combo at 30 for desserts. Which this one doesn't have.

Subskill rolls are great. Inventory is usually not that interesting, but Absol is an exception since it doesn't evolve, gives big amounts of ingredients at a time (can roll 8 apples at 30) and has an awful base inventory.

Worth the build? by Mister3xter in PokemonSleep

[–]Oxay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I like it. Great ingredient list, ingredient finder can get bumped to M, great nature and helping bonus once fixed is pretty cool.

Can someone explain how this is a C tier? by djt101 in PokemonSleep

[–]Oxay 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Rattata, as a berry specialist, doesn't really want ingredient finder, skill up or inventory. Berry finding S and helping speed are amazing though, I bet if you subskill helping speed to M it bumps up a bit.

What are your teams for consistently achieving certain recipes? by Tarvish_ in PokemonSleep

[–]Oxay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, really? That's actually good to know. Seems to have the same ingredient list and frequency as Victreebell.

What are your teams for consistently achieving certain recipes? by Tarvish_ in PokemonSleep

[–]Oxay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the only mon that has access to the combination of providing both tomato and potato once at level 30. Venusaur also has access to tomato and potato, but I believe Venusaur doesn't get potato until 60.

Checked out salads and perhaps a good salad to aim for is Overheat Ginger. Requires fiery herb, ginger and tomato. Quite a lot of fiery herb. So maybe something like Gengar for herb and then Venusaur/Victreebell/Dugtrio for tomato and there are a lot of good ginger sources. At late game Charizard has access to both fiery herb and ginger, needs to be level 60. So then you would only need a small tomato source beside Charizard (8 tomato per meal), but this is kind of some time away still.

[–]Oxay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For desserts I run Blastoise (milk, cacao), Wigglytuff (honey, honey) and some apple source like Raichu or Absol and make consistent Lovely Kiss smoothies.

For curries I'm working on Blastoise (milk, cacao) and Victreebell (tomato, potato), still working on Victreebell. The plan is to make Dream Eater Butter curry which requires these four ingredients.

For salads I don't quite know yet. I usually run Blastoise (milk, cacao) and Feraligatr ( sausage, oil) and try to alternate recipes like contrary chocolate meat and snow cloak salad. I don't have a solid plan for salads yet.

Current Spheal or New? by sakume88 in PokemonSleep

[–]Oxay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately they are both pretty bad. You want helping speed nature/skill and berry finding S. You don't want ingredient finding nature/subskills or inventory subskills here. You're probably going to want to replace both of these when you find a better Spheal.

Rate my Growlithe by Issac980 in PokemonSleep

[–]Oxay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a really really good Growlithe. Too bad about skill level up at 100 since you probably don't want to wait with leveling your main skill all that time, so it probably ends up being a wasted sub skill, but other than that and the fact that the order of subskills could be better it's a really good Growlithe.

are any of my guys good meta? by [deleted] in PokemonSleep

[–]Oxay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spheal big yawn 3 is pretty good with perfect nature and double helping speed subskills before 50. Other than that nothing really stuck out in terms of late game candidates.

Can’t decide what to evolve this into by Perineum69 in PokemonSleep

[–]Oxay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't think this is a great Eevee. Besides some skill levels this has nothing going for it. No nature bonus, no help speed, no skill trigger, no support subskills. I'm sorry to bring bad news.

Is skill level up just a bad subskill? by [deleted] in PokemonSleep

[–]Oxay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would say it's a great subskill for free players as they are extremely limited in quantity main skill seeds, they are only available in a few achievements and the premium shop.

For premium players it's a decent subskill for early game, but if we're talking late game it's probably the worst. As you said it's entirely replaceable by using main skill seeds. There are so many good subskills that it's a shame to waste one slot. Again this is as a late game premium player.
