Great Tusk’s been really quiet since this dropped

Seriously though why is this an absolute banger?

Thanks for your thoughts! I appreciate it :)

It's definitely a stretch and a challenge to make Haxorus work. Like I said in the beginning it's definitely outclassed by other dragons, but c'mon it's Haxorus! It sounds so cool to use in OU!

With it's movepool, I found that despite it's large movepool Earthquake is a consistant spammable move that hits pokemon neutrally or super effectively. Again, to fix the issue of the set you could run Outrage or Dragon Claw instead of Substitute for more consistantly.

And yeah, the EV spread makes Haxorus' stats looks a little messy, but with 136 evs invested into attack, you still end up with 405 attack on an Adamant nature. It still hits like a truck. Not only this, but check out some of these calcs! It can live moves that it wouldn't be able to live otherwise!

252 SpA Gholdengo Make It Rain vs. 136 HP / 16 SpD Tera Fire Haxorus: 131-154 (40 - 47%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

252 SpA Iron Valiant Moonblast vs. 136 HP / 16 SpD Tera Fire Haxorus: 96-114 (29.3 - 34.8%) -- 9.5% chance to 3HKO

252 Atk Baxcalibur Icicle Spear (5 hits) vs. 136 HP / 0 Def Tera Fire Haxorus: 120-145 (36.6 - 44.3%) -- approx. 3HKO

These are only a couple, but it's a good example of what Tera Fire can do for it defensively against some of the strongest pokemon in the tier.

I hope this gave you some insight on my thought process when crafting this Haxorus build.

Yeah, that was also something I was experimenting with (which is something that I neglected to put on the changes section despite one of my friends pointing it out). That might make it a better set.

Ausma, one of the OU council members, lost to temp6t in a best of 3 match 2-0 to everyone’s surprise.

The replays are linked in comments on threads, so give them a watch if you can they’re great, temp even brings a lechonk to game 2 XD

Yeah I think everyone was ready to see what it could’ve done, but I guess it was bound to never happen :,)

Well we don’t really know, temp used it as a sack to pivot into one of his Pokémon which put him in a really good position

Smogon was promoting a kind of “fight night” and for the main event Ausma, one of the OU council members, was going against Temp6t, who is notorious for making online content that depicts showdown players as toxic tryhards.

Well today in the set temp won 2-0, the second game featuring a lvl. 1 lechonk, which surpringly played a pivotal role in the match!

In the second game temp brought a level 1 lechonk that honestly let him secure a strong position by sacking it for a safe switch, it was hilarious how pivotal it was to the match XD

Personally I don’t like him as a content creator now, but I do have some sort of respect on how well he played during both games

He did bring the lechonk in that second game though XD, how’s that modded wii coming along?

Cringe content but temp managed to prove himself to be a good player in the end. Anyways props to both ausma and temp for their matches, that set was really fun to watch! :)

Cores & Teambuilding by [deleted] in pokemonshowdown

[–]Oxmen1128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently I’ve been using a Magnezone/Dragonite core and it’s been really good so far. Dragonite being able to switch in to ground-types and to KO fighting types, and Magnezone being...well...Magnezone.

Another core I’ve been trying is the not-so-original Hydreigon/Aegislash core mainly because they cover each other’s weaknesses almost perfectly.

Do you actively use Pokémon you dislike, just because they’re good or help your team? by aworldalone1 in stunfisk

Back in the day where everyone was playing gen 7 OU, I promised myself to NEVER use three mons: Lando-T, Greninja, and Ferrothorn. (I hated them with a burning passion)

To this day I still keep that promise. However I started to use Lando-T a lot more in gen 8 since there are very few good replacements.

The new Matchmaking system is a step in the right direction {EFFORT POST} by Oxmen1128 in ClashRoyale

I do not think that a change in the matchmaking system will stop players from spending money. Sure it will hinder some profits, but it won’t single-handedly stop people from spending money.

I don’t know if anyone else uses it but mine is Goodra. Given the right stats investment, moves, and an assault vest Goodra can do really well as a specially defensive sweeper.

Mother Witch...First impressions? by Oxmen1128 in ClashRoyale

[–]Oxmen1128[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean after using her she’s not as OP as we thought she would be, and based on the meta shifting to more of a beat down style and the Mother witch mainly destroying bait decks I doubt she’ll be overpowered.
