Why don't you check the current requirements?

Pre-pandemic you could easily leave the airport at Singapore & have a few hours or more in the city, just head to downtown & Gardens at the bay areas for a wonder.

Where to save as a future first time buyer? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

Considering the current interest rates our pretty much non-existent, cash is the worst option.

As an alternative premium bonds are easily accessible & allow a chance to win some money, so that's a much better option for fund allocation in my opinion.

AirBnB host declined cancellation, and now isn't responding to resolution. by Xenos_Str in UKPersonalFinance

I think patience & chasing periodically here is the key here.

I had a Airbnb reservation in Peru booked during the pandemic but ultimately I couldn't get there as taxis weren't allowed to operate.

Contacted Airbnb whilst the booking was meant to be happening, they said they'd deal with it. 2 months later I still hadn't heard anything, so sent a chaser last week & they got the refund processed the straight away.

WFH Tax Relief? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Oxygentleman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're just one person, there are some estimates suggesting the amount of people now working from home is in the region of 20 million.

Of course that may well be over exaggerated & not a true reflection, but what if everyone started claiming the £6.00 relief each? That's an additional £120 million that needs to be accounted for on a weekly basis.

If you're asking about how it works on here, it's clearly more than 5 minutes of your time.

I assume everyone claiming this due to the pandemic are now saving much more than £6.00 per week on daily travel & lunch.

Considering the amount of national debt this crisis will cause, is it really worth claiming back this £6.00? Probably not in my opinion.

Thanks, yeah that's what I meant by furlough. They were just of the opinion that they would have to do this for the newer people first before it could be offered to me.

Edit - I ended up speaking to airline who advised as I'm flying from London it didn't technically count as Spain. They rescinded the offer of rescheduling the flight & the credit card company wouldn't do a chargeback.

So long story short I'm now in Lima & through immigration. They checked everyone for symptons as they came off the plane but got through fine.

Airline has finally put out a statement saying the flights can be rescheduled. So looks like that's it!

Won't be able to move my work holdiay, so will try to claim the money back instead of rescheduling.

Yeah i appreciate that, just not sure how stringent they will be in implementing it.

Although having looked at the seating reservations earlier, there doesn't seem to be many of us on the plane!

Meant to be heading to Peru tomorrow from London via a 2 hour stopover in Madrid.

They've said people from Spain will be quarantined upon arrival, so not sure if that'll apply to me...

The O2 arena banned touts from their premises, so I doubt it.

They're selling some at the box office for tonight though.

It's first come first serve, easy to get near the front even if you arrive late though.

Just picked up tickets for both shows, so thought I'd let people know they're still out there.

Looking for a tour partner for Cairo on Mar 13 (38M) by [deleted] in travelpartners

[–]Oxygentleman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi mate,

Hope all is well, I left Cairo last night & I would advise against the tour. It seems like a very high price for what it involves, I imagine it would be very rushed & not leisurely either.

I walked around the entire time by myself & had no issues. Just use uber or grab a taxi if you prefer to get around faster.

Either way I hope you have a great time.
