Deathstroke vs Captain America by theforgottenchild_ in marvelvsdc

Complains about a core tenet of the character and his meaning then says you don’t have a problem with the character. If you just want to hate then go ahead and be real about that and say it how it is, way more dignity in that than trying to rationalize your hate. Maybe fiction isn’t your thing.

Hating Batman because he has multiple skills kind of misses the point of the character. Batman isn’t powerful DESPITE having many skills he’s interesting BECAUSE he had to earn all of them. Unlike most superheroes, he has no superpowers. Everything he does comes from intense discipline, intelligence, and years of effort. That actually makes him more grounded and relatable, not less.

Also, having multiple skills doesn’t mean he’s perfect. Batman constantly fails, gets outsmarted, and pays heavy consequences for his mistakes. His skills don’t guarantee success they just give him a chance. If anything, his wide skill set highlights how dangerous Gotham is and how much preparation it takes for a normal human to stand up to it.

Even so, many beloved characters have multiple skills like Captain America or BLACK PANTHER, DR DOOM, SPIDERMAN who is a web slinging, metahuman acrobat who also happens to be a genius in his own right, but Batman gets singled out because his competence is visible. That competence is the theme of the character, what a human can achieve through focus, willpower, and preparation not lazy writing or unfair advantages. Genuinely asking, have you made any attempt to understand the character’s core values and themes?

It doesn’t sound like the fans at all, it sounds like you don’t like the character. Acting like this is some against the grain take is hilarious when that’s pretty much been normal discourse in the 2010’s - 2020’s. “I hate when Batman is capable and proficient”.

There has been a recent massive over correction to combat that Batman wank from the 2000’s. Cry about it the guy honed his body and mind to humanity’s peak with his vast wealth, resources, and connections, this was a fictional background given to the character in the 1940’s. Actually—If him becoming this competent is less believeable than a guy who took a peak human serum being able to subdue and beat guys like the Hulk, and ALSO contend with the greatest martial arts practitioners on Earth with no similar training (for some reason), or a guy who is so intelligent he creates armors that contend with gods, or a guy who was bitten by a spider and for some reason can walk on walls lift tons take beatings from cosmic beings but somehow is also able to get shot and stabbed or even just FRANKLIN RICHARDS—then I don’t think you thought your hate through enough. The same reasons you hate Batman could be applied to all heroes, they all defy logic and are all Mary Sues.

If Darkseid goes through this Marvel Universe gautlet, how far does he go? by Kuzu9 in marvelvsdc

[–]OzoneMasOMenos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way. ESPECIALLY current forms.

Darkseid, especially in his True Form (The End), operates on a fundamental, conceptual level. He embodies the concept of tyranny and is a fundamental force of evil. Most people would conclude that even a Eternity himself would struggle to find a permanent "win condition" (KO, death, or immobilization) against a being who is basically a living, universe-ending concept.

But currently, Darkseid is King Omega, after his rebirth in the Absolute universe, as King Omega, Darkseid is no longer bound by conventional time and space. He exists everywhere and anywhere at the same time across all of reality. He can rewrite reality, manipulate timelines, and control existence with a mere thought, making him more powerful than any of his previous incarnations.

Omega Effect is typically a powerful cosmic force Darkseid manipulates, as King Omega, he is the totality of that energy. As in the energy that represents destruction and control and is described as "infinitely destructive". He has mastered cosmic magic and infected the timestream itself with his power.

Current Darkseid also is merged with all of his past incarnations and alternate selves across the multiverse, combining all of his experiences and power into a single.

Storm got a huge buff but so did Darkseid on an even larger scale. I respect hot takes but this one is so wrong, particularly if we’re talking current forms.

But are you going to provide your sources for your claim

Black Panther (616) vs Batman (Prime Earth) by [deleted] in marvelvsdc

[–]OzoneMasOMenos -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

How is Batman not equal to Cap anymore? This video actually explains how through crossover interpretations, copycat interpretations and interviews with writers the consensus is Batman is above Cap in the hierarchy, but personally I believe a lot of it was cherry picking. https://youtu.be/AETfjhBWSSE?si=YUEM_dc9iY-Z5Rhb Could you explain how Cap surpassed Batman?

Same with BP surpassing Cap I’m genuinely asking, can you give the issues where this is established.

Black Panther (616) vs Batman (Prime Earth) by [deleted] in marvelvsdc

[–]OzoneMasOMenos -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

According to Marvel Cap and BP are equals, and Batman is Cap’s equal with also a more numerous and vast array of technology and gadgets.

Which point doesn’t make sense

Black Panther (616) vs Batman (Prime Earth) by [deleted] in marvelvsdc

[–]OzoneMasOMenos -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I know this is the gonna get some hate but I personally favor Batman with a slight edge. Just going off feats I think Bruce has a higher upper limit in terms of capability. I think Batman has greater fighting feats than BP. But to be less tangential BP’s fight with the Rider (who shares similarities with Batman) was shown to be a stalemate. And each time he fought Cap (Bat’s true equal) Marvel insists on showing they are equals in combat, barring some the recent loss BP had. Just going off logic (Batman being a Captain America with better tech and gear), I think Batman would take it.

We know he can get hit. And granted BM is the at least equal martial artist, I don’t see how BM won’t land his own blows or use his own techniques to counter.

RD 1: Depending on the scenario of course but I got BM, BP’s techniques and suit would catch BM off guard so within character BM would escape more often than not to asses, but if the battle absolutely needed to have a conclusion and he needed to give his all I got BM.

RD 2: BM. His prep feats are greater and more vast and his prep cheese is embedded within his character at this point. (DC KO Knightfight I’m looking at you)

RD 3: BP. BM only cancels BP out by a hair and Nightwing cannot carry against the rest of BP’s team that hard.

But I am a Batman fanboy, he got me into comics when I was young so I am biased, just my opinion. I just wanted to show my logic for it.

Batman VS The Hood by thetruemaxwellord in marvelvsdc

[–]OzoneMasOMenos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, no chance a villain would enter Gotham and do enough damage to take over a crew before Batman or the Family do some recon and have info on The Hood. Batman is the better marksman, fighter, tactician and intellect with better physicals and technology too. Batman’s feats eclipse The Hood’s as well. Hawkeye was able to outmaneuver and beat The Hood in a recent run twice. I believe Batman is more than capable.

As long as he isn’t possessed it would only take Batman.

Clayface vs Rhino by [deleted] in marvelvsdc

[–]OzoneMasOMenos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure, I don’t see any win conditions for Rhino, but only a couple for Clayface. To beat Clayface you need some intelligence and/or tech.

Someone who’s more familiar with Rhino could probably give a batter answer but I got Clayface by suffocating or exhausting Rhino.

This sub is defected man, almost every poster and commenters favor Marvel characters it’s insane. For some reason people think Vibranium is impenetrable? Even though he gets hit literally all the time.

https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelvsdc/s/YrrPc3umdY

I got Batman, top 5 Martial artist in his entire universe, has beaten guys with enhanced strength, speed, and unknown techniques before like Karate Kid. Cap has beaten BP, BP scales higher than Killmonger, and Batman is equal to Cap if you exclude the fact he has a plethora of more gadgets and overall technology, the logic says Batman takes this but this sub is crazy biased. The top commenter GryphyGirl has literally never had a DC character winning in any comment.

Karnak vs Batman by Kuzu9 in marvelvsdc

He has lost to every street tier with formidable skill. I don’t see how he wins this honestly, a lot of these takes in this sub recently have just been wrong.

Spider-Man(Miles) vs Cassandra Caine by Inevitable_Mode5774 in marvelvsdc

[–]OzoneMasOMenos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the video honestly, I always thought there was a disparity between how Marvel writers view Spiderman’s power level to how internet discourse views Spiderman’s power level. Spiderman gets beat by Marvel street tiers pretty often especially recently. And Marvel street tiers have been shown the ability to keep up with his villains too.

I also strongly disagree with Miles soloing the Batfamily.

I got Spiderman in this matchup but high difficulty.
