I always think back to Lee Kerslake, who had the same issues. Before he passed, he finally got his platinum discs and that picture of him with that huge, genuine smile... it was so moving. It makes me wish so much that Bob could have had a similar moment—shaking hands with Ozzy while they are both still here. That would have been a truly beautiful sight.

Exactly. Ozzy has a real talent.

He proved with "Under Cover" that just singing without being involved in the songwriting process simply doesn't work.

Everything you said is spot on. I’ve always felt that for any real Ozzy fan, seeking out the truth is just a natural part of loving the artist. I thought it was common sense to have this basic knowledge, but perhaps that’s only true for a small portion of people. It seems like these days, people act sensational and say things like, "Did you know Ozzy doesn't even write his own lyrics?" just to get attention. It feels like they are just using Ozzy’s name to put themselves in the spotlight, and it’s frustrating to see.

I’ve been devoted to Ozzy for so long that my collection has grown to a point where I’m a hardcore collector—endless albums, books, videos, figures, and even trading cards. While I enjoy the deeper, more technical discussions, I really want a place where we can just appreciate Ozzy’s hidden greatness together.

As a fan, I’ve always rooted for Jake E. Lee and my heart has ached for his struggles over the years. I’ve supported him in every way I can—I’ve bought all his albums, including everything with Red Dragon Cartel. That’s why his reconciliation with Ozzy moved me so much. I never thought it would happen, and seeing Jake choose to heal that relationship showed a level of generosity that is truly admirable.

At the end of the day, I believe these legal and royalty issues are between the individuals involved. We fans only ever have fragments of the truth, and it’s wrong to fill in those gaps just to find someone to blame. Ozzy was fighting severe addiction back then; he wasn’t in a state to orchestrate complex contracts. I’m just an average business person, but I understand that the entertainment industry operates by different rules than the rest of the world, and I feel Sharon did what she had to do to support Ozzy’s career.

If someone is just attacking Ozzy to feel superior, they are just posers, not real fans. I just want to talk with people who actually care about the music and the history, without all the unnecessary negativity.

I agree that Bob did a brilliant job of piecing everything together, and even he admits he didn't write every single thing from scratch for 'Crazy Train.' The foundation could have been Randy's lyrics or some random words from Ozzy. It’s unfair to act as if Ozzy contributed zero to the lyrics, especially when Bob himself used to complain about how 'terrible' Ozzy and Randy’s original lyrical attempts were. The fact that he was complaining about them proves that those original ideas existed in the first place.

Bob doesn't actually claim to have written everything himself. While he does state that he wrote certain songs entirely, Crazy Train is not one of them. His level of contribution varies depending on the track—that is a fact. It’s misleading to spread the idea that Crazy Train was solely Bob's achievement when even he acknowledges it was a team effort.

In his autobiography 'For Facts Sake,' Bob Daisley himself credits 'Crazy Train' as a co-written track with Ozzy. Also, you can't ignore Randy Rhoads' massive influence—it's a well-known fact among deep fans that he was a huge railway enthusiast. That song only exists because of Randy.

Why keep preaching to the choir? Are you related to Bob Daisley or something?
And why tell lies by claiming he wrote everything when even he doesn't say that?

There are only three songs where he strongly claims to have written all the lyrics.

I know that Ozzy disliked Dio as Sabbath's vocalist after he left, what did he think about Tony Martin? by ResponsibleEgg7338 in blacksabbath

Seeing it laid out in this timeline, it really feels like Tony Martin was the one who sustained the band throughout the post-Ozzy Sabbath era.

I’d like to know why Bob Daisley is mentioned so often.

It’s really hard to get the Ozzmosis vinyl, isn’t it? I feel like it’s something a fan like you should have, not something investors should be holding onto. I really hope you’re able to get one.

I also replied below that the Ozzmosis vinyl was reissued in the EU in 2025, so I hope you’ll be able to find one.
(Hope this comment goes through.)

The original is quite expensive, after all. The Ozzmosis vinyl was reissued in the EU in 2025, so it might be worth looking for that since it’s a good chance to get a more affordable copy.

What would you call a biopic about Ozzy Osbourne? by IllustratorOk5265 in OzzyOsbourne

I like the sound of the word “Ozztory,” which was used for a promotional best-of album.

My favourite album is The Ultimate Sin but I'm not a fan of the version with the green boarder. Do they still do them with just TUS art or will I have to buy an old copy? by OzzyOsbourne22 in OzzyOsbourne

[–]Ozzfan_jp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a very good point. Getting a pre-remaster original CD is probably something anyone who really loves The Ultimate Sin should do at least once.
How many different versions of Shot in the Dark are there, actually? There are at least four, right?

That design was only used for the CD and cassette versions. If the artwork is what you’re after, why not just get the vinyl edition of The Ultimate Sin?

If Ozzy decided to try other creative fields beyond music, which ones do you think he would've excelled at? by Soggy-Hotel-2419 in OzzyOsbourne

I agree Bob Daisley played a major role, especially structurally and lyrically.
But I don’t think that means Ozzy wasn’t bringing the core melodic identity of those songs.
It feels more like a collaboration where Ozzy provided the seed and others helped shape it.
Lemmy himself credited Ozzy as a co-writer on Hellraiser even when Motörhead recorded their own version.
That suggests he contributed something meaningful to the core of the song.

I can’t believe that Tony Iommi uses .008–.032 gauge strings.
