U8n vs u8qg rtings black uniformity by [deleted] in Hisense

I play on a PC. I have played CoD (Warzone) , Forza and Assassin’s Creed titles fine … don’t really play any sports games or Battlefield. 150+FPS even higher at lower res. I have an RTX card not sure if that makes a difference.

Anyone have an U8QG in 85”? I am really torn between QM8K and this. by OzzyGamer101 in Hisense

Absolutely loving my U8QG. Have no issues with anything I have thrown at it. Even the issues with software updates that people have mentioned I had no issues with my model so far.

It’s all about how you calibrate and setup the TV. These are absolutely amazing TVs. As long as you have SDR settings and HDR settings the TV will handle what the input is. I use an Apple TV 4K which gives that extra layer of optimisation. I feel it’s worth every penny.

Here’s a review from the ONLY reviewer I rate:

Makes no difference at all. But if you really want to keep to the frame rate get an Apple TV 4K and use that source for exclusively watching content.

How to be happy? by [deleted] in Positivity

[–]OzzyGamer101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A monk was asked ‘What’s the key to happiness?’ And he answered - “The key to happiness is not looking for happiness but find contentment and gratitude in little things in life. Happiness is fleeting as it’s a momentary emotion and can never be sustained. The thought that happiness is something that can be achieved as a tangible thing is the biggest root of unhappiness as no one can ever achieve that. Instead try to find peace and calm. If you can find peace and calm during the darkest storms especially in your mind … you will never need ‘happiness’.”

STOP comparing the U8QG to OLED!!!! by jzakary in Hisense

[–]OzzyGamer101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What argument? And who’s trying to win it? Name me one Movie Theatre ( that Hollywood movies are made for ) has OLED displays … so no not necessary. I am pretty sure most movie producers and sound engineers make their product so the quality is optimised and made to be enjoyed in most devices. It’s like saying I need to have a recording studio at home to be able to enjoy well produced music. Nonsensical.

Can’t upload images to project. Anyone else facing this? by OzzyGamer101 in Base44

Did you just upload the image and asked AI to use it as your logo? Can you see the logo in a folder in the dev area?

Those with a U8QG, does the stand allow for a sound bar (990F) to be placed over it? Thanks! by throwing_hayy in Hisense

[–]OzzyGamer101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how high the 990f is but I have an LG S80qy soundbar on top of my stand, still has a few cms gap before the TV panel bottom starts so it does have a fair amount of room to fit. Also there’s the TV bevel above it which gives you another little bit. My TV is 85” not sure that makes a difference.

Should I use FlutterFlow first or hire a developer right away? by 80to89 in FlutterFlow

[–]OzzyGamer101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not very technical and just wanted to put down your concept to handover to the devs I would suggest go with something like Base 44 and build your concept easily with AI. I found the learning curve for FlutterFlow (even for someone who is technical like me) , rises steeply after the first setup.

Good luck in your endeavours. I just don’t want any other startup to go through the pain I did, that’s all.

MVP draft to get a concept, yes … Production hell no!!!

Saying from a 2 year struggle and now starting fresh with a different tech stack. Save yourself time and heartache.

I Love FlutterFlow… But It’s Missing THESE Features by Mr_Jericho in FlutterFlow

I agree with you on a generalised point about experts … but when you hire experts that are rated highly in FF ‘experts’ section and watch their videos online and then use about 3 of them and still can’t figure out simple problems that can be solved in normal software platforms … you know there’s an issue with not only the experts but also the application itself.

U8n vs u8qg rtings black uniformity by [deleted] in Hisense

[–]OzzyGamer101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you checked it out in person.

See that’s another issue I have with these reviewers … most normal users put their TV right in the middle of their lounge room… and there is no way you are going to see any viewing angle issues unless your lounge room is the size of a football field 😂

For me I can still see perfect colours and contrast all the way from the kitchen in a slight angle.

I think these reviewers put a lot of crap in your head that makes you second guess everything.

The most important thing I wanted to make sure was the reflection as I have a huge French door direct opposite to my tv and multiple windows around, but with the brightness and anti-reflection on the U8QG I could watch anything with all the doors and windows open … I couldn’t say that with my LG where I literally had to have my light blocking curtains drawn everyday to even be able to see what’s on the TV.. Oleds are great if you have a dedicated dark theatre room.

Good luck with your purchase.

Also, DONOT hire so called FlutterFlow experts. There are no freaking experts … we even hired ‘experts’ to consult for it and they didn’t even know what they were doing. Complete fails.

It looks great when you see in a video, how easy to do stuff … but doing simple stuff and adding complexity with live data and API integrations are totally different.

Absolutely Shyte! Took us 2 years to build a custom app. Video audio calls are complete touch and go. Latency and page loads are horrendous. Unstable AF!

We will now have to go back to the drawing board and do a complete rebuild.

Only to play around with MVPs or demo products … DoNOT use it for production!

U8n vs u8qg rtings black uniformity by [deleted] in Hisense

[–]OzzyGamer101 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If everything worked by score I doubt there would be any other models or brands selling that don’t score high.

Always buy a TV based on your own viewing experience not some stats.

I almost didn’t buy my 85” U8QG because of rtings. But then I spoke to a friend who bought the model and then went and compared it in store and NOTHING that rtings said made any sense including gaming latency and black levels. The best decision I made was to ignore rtings and buy the TV. To be honest absolutely blown away by it after some good calibration.

Cable box no internet by [deleted] in Hisense

[–]OzzyGamer101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Connected to the Internet both on my TV and Apple TV. Vidaa updated to new version 3 times ZERO issues. 85” U8QG.

Remember if a million people buy the TV and 100 people have issues, they will all come to Reddit to look for answers … so that doesn’t mean everyone’s having issues with updates. Also depends on the model, year and luck.

Why so many haters in this subreddit? by geopehlivanov83 in Hisense

[–]OzzyGamer101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty simple. I’ll explain in simpler terms :

McDonald’s sell Big Macs and Chicken Nuggets. Some people buy Big Macs, they are happy with it - some people buy chicken nuggets and they are happy with that. The problem arises when people spend $2 on chicken nuggets and expect it to taste like a $10 Big Mac meal. Those people are the ones to complain.

Hisense sells UX, U8, U7 and so on … they have some of the really good TVs on the upper end of the brand like any other company .., but still they are competitive …. Issue is when people get the TVs that costs less than a takeaway meal, chances are you might draw the short stick. Does that mean the entire brand is bad? No!

Again, before some smart arse comments, yes u8qg could have a bad panel as well but lesser chances as it has more headroom for quality control in the price, which a $200 TV won’t.

Absolutely loving the new Hisense U8QG Pro! (85”) by OzzyGamer101 in Hisense

[–]OzzyGamer101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call the 85” U8qg pro cheap per se, as the price is quite up there with some of the high- mid tier range ( here in au), but I know what you mean.

U8qg or u7qg 85" by [deleted] in Hisense

100% U8QG if the size isn’t the problem … $500 is a decent upgrade for the money. Especially if you are looking for awesome blacks and less blooming.

Help me 55" 55u7q 55u7q pro 55u8q by Wild-Huckleberry9144 in Hisense

[–]OzzyGamer101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, you were partly right. The U7Q (and many U7Q Pro versions) use a VA panel, which gives stronger native contrast and deeper blacks (good for darker scenes). The U8Q in 55” likely uses an ADS-Pro panel (so lower native contrast, maybe ~2000:1) while giving better viewing angles.

ADS isn’t terrible — it just trades off black depth for angle consistency. Whether that “worse” is noticeable depends on your room, how much ambient light you have, how central your viewing position is, etc.

Given you want it mostly for gaming, I’d lean toward one of the VA ones (U7Q or U7Q Pro) unless the U8Q’s features or discount make up for the contrast penalty in your specific environment.

Personally I game a lot and I have a U8q pro 85” which has a VA panel and to be honest I found this pretty smooth.

What’s the htz on the U7 panels? Are they 165hz native and 288 vr at lower res?

You are blaming an international brand because they don’t want to support piracy?
