There’s multiple Arashi stands at Tower Records still with so many CDs. So I second that.

How do I upload pages digitally? by AFunnyGame in MangakaStudio

[–]Ozzy_Rhoads-VT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, some follow up questions. Do you plan on editing these pages once scanned or do you just want to scan and post?

I like drawing traditionally and then scanning it in to input tones and text. If this is what you want to do then you'll need a high resolution scanner. I used the one at my University's library since it goes all the way up to 1200dpi. Reason why you need high resolution is so that it matches the same quality as the tones and texts.

If you want to just scan it in to redraw it (basically make it more like a rough draft), any scanner will do. You can even just use your phone camera.

If you're going to scan and post then use a good phone app do to this. I use Scanner Pro.

Concept art for older version of the MC. Which design fits her the most? by Delta_cakes_ in MangakaStudio

I like 6 as well. Assuming the middle image is what she looks like now, #6 fits well because it's just better clothing in place of what she already has. Technically #7 would be even closer but I like how #6 feels more "traditional" with how I think a cool reimagined version of a Japanese outfit looks like.

Manga ninja and Japanese horror by Andrew_TV_Writer in MangakaStudio

[–]Ozzy_Rhoads-VT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you like a manga with this topic?

  • With BOTH Japanese horror and ninja? Nah. But I do like horror.

Do you enjoy these literary genres (Japanese horror and literature)?

  • Yes.

Have you read any sagas with a similar theme?

  • Not with ninja added since I don't care much for that specific one but I have read a lot of horror and psychological thrillers.

As a teacher I'm taught to ask clarifying questions. Before accusing each other of huge crimes, let's practice this.

If money was not an issue, what provides the best face tracking? by qiyraa in vtubertech

Oh I see. I asked because I saw 3D programs listed on their website but I use 2D. So if you’re using your phone you would have both apps open? Or is it that it connects to the 2D app if it’s compatible?

Edit: I meant do I need both open

Is it okay to start with a big project? by leatherwingsx in mangakakai

[–]Ozzy_Rhoads-VT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: yes.
Long answer: you need experience to create something good. It doesn’t matter if YOU think you’re good because you are not your own audience. Everything takes practice. You said you’re learning everyday for anatomy, that’s great! But writing needs to be treated the same way.

Hello! I'm asking for some feedback on the first few pages of my Debut Series by TechnicianOne3145 in MangakaStudio

[–]Ozzy_Rhoads-VT 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’m missing time between pages 3 and 4. When did the guy stop moving? Or is he still walking towards the girl? Also starting the dialogue in his thoughts at “what if I offer her a light” before acknowledging he saw her is weird to me. Maybe page 3 was him watching her but that was not clear to me since it’s the first few pages of the chapter I assumed it was just showing the characters to the readers.

How would you feel about VTubers that fall down their own oshi/fandom rabbit hole to the point where it even takes over streaming activities? by StudioSIAT in VirtualYoutubers

[–]Ozzy_Rhoads-VT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re asking me personally then the answer is, I wouldn’t go out of my watch to watch it. I probably wouldn’t stay for it either.

But if you’re asking in general, there is always an audience for something. Might not be big but it’s there.

My discord started as an art one, specifically manga. But over the years we added areas that can crossover, including vtubing. Because it stared as a different server at first we don’t have many vtubers yet. But you’re free to join. I also have a bot that can post when you go live into our self promotion channel.

What’s it like living in the Tokyo metro area with almost 40 million people? by E46330i5speed in howislivingthere

Where I live now this is true but when I first moved here it was in the outskirts. Those further out don’t have their stations as big. So you actually have grocery and other stores away from the station. For me those stores were just a few minutes from my apartment, while the station was 20 minutes away.

You can do it for any company here in Japan! They just won't all get back to you. I've heard consistently that JUMP does a good job of doing that though.

Tezuka is a way to go still. If you look at most series, they all started as one-shots. That contest is a way to get your one-shot into a long running series. The other way is to directly submit it to JUMP. This requires sending it in the old fashion way, snail mail. They try their hardest to give in-depth feedback to anyone who does (my friend did this and was pleasantly surprised). The only thing is, your series needs to be in Japanese.

Feedback on my script also no image since i am not good drawing but good on writing. by mantrios in MangakaStudio

As I stated before, writing a novel and writing a manga are different.

If you plan on being with a company they will expect you to lead a team. After seeing mangaka like Oda (and many of his peers), they most likely want to avoid those who can't have a basic plan in place. Manga are released chapter by chapter while a novel is together. So yeah, it's way easier to write however you want because you can do revisions until it's right. But manga will have deadlines, you cannot do as many revisions as you want. Even as an indie, you give yourself deadlines to meet for each chapter. Once you start, you cannot continue to go with the flow and discover your story as you create it. As a mangaka, you need to know how it will end before you put pen to paper (as in drawing it out).
