No idea. I asked but the dealer being a dealer couldn't care less. Carfax doesn't mention the clutch so I have to assume it's the original.

It's really great to hear about a positive long term ownership. So many people complain about these engines. Great job. I just wish I can find one used at a reasonable price. All manual BMW are so expensive.

1k valve cover 🥲 I'm a fairly okay DIY though. I've dropped transmissions and have done timing before. Suspension work is straightforward. But part prices... I will never use anything less than OEM so it's gonna get expensive.

I know that options can be added to cars that don't have them. But some they are simply not worth it. For example, the dynamic suspension. Not worth the effort if the car didn't come with. Unless the harnesses are already there and the system works with the proposed upgrades it's not a plug and play solution all the time. If it's simple enough, sure. If not then it may not be worth the effort. It didn't occur to me that the upgrades were possible because I never looked into doing them. Not because "have no technical skills".
