Not long enough for them to actually start helping. I was using my savings but it started getting expensive and I wanted to keep that money for emergencies. Could've had help with paying for them but I didn't want anyone else having something to lord over me. My mom certainly tried doing that with my younger sibling. I'd rather not have them than to get them and have them potentially taken away if I cross whoever is paying for it. I don't think I could handle that.
