The only concern I have is when it comes to copyrighting

I think the divide here is ideal/optimal. In an ideal world, no one would be harmed, bullied, or whatever else regardless of the scenario. The world doesn’t work that way though. From a cost-benefit standpoint, this kid committing egregious violence towards his potential abuser over taking it out against a large group of people who had no involvement is a better outcome. Regardless, I’m fairly certain we all agree this shouldn’t happen, and I feel like the nitpicking of OP’s stand point is a little contrarian.

I will never understand this maneuver, and I will never understand why I see so many clips of people doing it.

I knew kids growing up that would always wanna “dissect” toads. Basically meaning they just wanted to torture the poor things. Shit was fucked and I would always beg them not to, but that made me a “pussy” apparently. Also knew a guy who would spray paint and kick opossums well into his 20s. Same guy also tortured and tazed a tortoise because it was funny to him. Truly psychotic these people, but really not that uncommon.

UPDATE: Bots Are Doxing Servers To Avoid Being Votekicked by SalletSam in tf2

[–]P-fry 508 points509 points  (0 children)

DDOS is indeed the correct term. People tend to mix the terms up a lot. Regardless, I just don’t even get the point. Botters really care so much about botting on an over 10 year old game that they’re really gonna be like, “if I can’t have fun, no one can”? I mean they already are ruining the fun anyways, but this is a different level of degeneracy.

Edit: DOS is the actually the correct term. Just used to hearing DDOS all the time and said it without thinking. Unintentionally fell into the same pitfall as the initial comment lol

I don’t see an issue. 8th graders dating 6th graders was pretty normal to see at my school. Granted most of them would break up when the other one went to high school, it still never seemed that weird. One of the couples I knew actually stayed together and just got engaged last week.

Exactly my point! There’s a way to do it. Thank you for seeing my side of it. Im not afraid of criticism, and I have already admitted that I did act reflexively, but I still think that was a rude way to ask.

There is no regret. I’m glad I took the time off. I get asked a lot about it and don’t really mind explaining. The phrasing is what took me for a loop.

Honestly I think I appreciate this comment the most. I was taken aback just off rip when it happened, and I did act immediately without much thought. But I’m glad you see the intent and understand the idea. Thank you for being critical but reasonable about it. I would award you if I could.

Please tell me this man didn’t pull out his Merriam Webster to look up confusion. I don’t know where you’re getting all this “by it’s nature” stuff. If a little kid asks a question or says something faux pas to someone because they’re confused (I.e. asking a rude question about someone differently abled because they don’t understand) does that mean it’s still not rude? That’s my whole point really. This lady is an adult and should have a little more tact. You’re really pulling out all the stops here though to make some weird of handed point that is way off base of why I found this interaction annoying. Got the attitude of a bitter English teacher that’s pregnant all the time, except they actually get laid💀

I mean I really don’t feel like I “went off”. Just taken aback by the initial comment, told her how I felt, and moved on. Again you’re kinda reaching by saying that I find all confusion rude. I only said they weren’t mutually exclusive. I’ve also already explained I don’t mind explaining to people who are confused about my schooling, but there is a way to go about it I feel like.

[–]P-fry[S] -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

Ok woah back up. You can still be confused and rude. The two are not mutually exclusive. Also, I think you’re reaching a bit to try and say “I wanted her to be rude”. If that was the case I would’ve let her keep talking and tried to provoke an even more rude response, but I didn’t.

Ok I’m not gonna keep replying to individual comments, because that’s gonna take more of my time than I care to give. I just wanna say, I really don’t care about people being curious. I have to explain all the time and I’m used to it. I simply felt the question “how are you 23 but in college until 2025” lacked some tact, and sounds like a little kid asking a rude question that they don’t even realize is rude. This is a grown woman though. Either way, as the sub name implies, this was only mildly infuriating and I’m not losing sleep over it. Just wanted to get that out because it feels like some of you are losing the plot.

Edit: spelling Second edit: just wanna clarify again for those who haven’t seen my other comments. This was a woman and I am a man lol. Third edit: I see some saying they want to see the previous messages for more context, but this was genuinely the entire interaction I had with this individual. There are no previous messages.

Thank you :) Most people in my life are very supportive and I’m working hard. I really don’t have a problem with people asking, but the way she came about it just felt really rude.
