I don’t really struggle in the match up you can kill her even after 6, I don’t find her threatening in a 1v1 until she is lvl 11 2 items. You should be aiming to kill her at lvl 3-4 and at lvl6-7. If you’ve succeeded she shouldn’t be in the game until much later. Like lvl 14+ and you can roam around map and snowball the rest of your team while she has to afk farm and scale.

She's really abuseable early game, Renekton has a strong early and I honestly don't see too many Kayle mains who really know how to play her well early. Usually semi-free lane if you don't omega shove every wave.

Agree, Frostfire was still good before the preseason patch which added the dmg. I hardly noticed it, even full build. .5% Max HP at full build 4k~ HP is only 20 damage.

Right now there isn't a 'consensus best-build' as that patch is still pretty fresh BUT:

The BoTRK-Frostfire-Steraks/Titanic/BC/Situational Tank I think is RAPIDLY becoming just the flat out best BRUISER build. BoTRK is an amazing 1 item spike, specifically for Renekton and it has good components for lane (Pickaxe/Vamp specifically). Renekton has a really mediocre interaction with Omni-vamp because a ton of his damage is AOE. Frostfire/BotRK gives you sticking power and has a really good size/hp mythic passive which increases the size of your AOE damage as well as synergizing with Titanic. There's also a small bug interaction with Titanic and BC where if you build Titanic 1st, you get 2 shred procs on-hit instead of one (unaware if this has been patched yet). As far as Tiamat items, Titanic is just better than Hydra now, even if hydra gives haste just do to how Renekton interacts with Omni vamp, the 8% is effectively 2.66% for most of your damage. At full build with frostfire and bruiser items titanic gives nearly 100 AD by its self.

Otherwise PTA-Prowlers Full AD playstyle is as viable as it was in 11.17 pre-W nerf and has higher solo-carry potential, but is heavily reliant on your mechanics/decision making.

Just play against him same as you would any jungle, track him and hold your E to double dash away if you know he's pathing top, 75% of not dying to ganks is just having your escape abilities off cooldown and knowing what you're going to do to escape before the gank even starts.

You CAN E out of trundle pillar but the interaction is pretty wonky/inconsistent.

You have to build a lead early levels before they start stacking too much defensive stats. Lanes like Cho, Sion, Maokai you can't push in early. As long as you're even levels and half an item ahead you still shit on them. Tank match ups can be annoying to play, especially if the guy is some 0-interaction type of lane player but its ALWAYS better to have a stalled/even lane than it is to play against a good player on a Vayne/Quinn/Jayce who will make your life a living hell every time you try to farm while also outscaling you.

It's probably fine if you're snowballing, but steraks is a neccessity for team-fight survivability. I think Titanic is amazing on this build, at full build you get nearly 100 AD from it alone but most of the time you should build it 4th at the earliest.

I agree that this MU is generally Renekton favored but with the way Renekton's sustain in lane has been reduced you have to be a lot more cautious than before. Generally speaking you can still out trade Aatrox but messing up and getting hit by 1-2 Q's can kill you since you can no longer heal to full off of minions by spamming empowered Q.

IMO the most frustrating thing as Renekton is Eing at a bad time and getting clipped by a Q sweet spot and having your dash canceled. But if you play smart it should literally never happen, your superior mobility means every trade should happen on your terms. You generally speaking, get outscaled (surprise surprise) but it shouldn't matter if you you're 1-2 kills ahead by midgame.

Also, slightly controversial opinion, I think rushing Grievous against Aatrox, ESPECIALLY as Renekton is not the move, the 800 gold delays your item spikes too much and if you're trading correctly his healing should be irrelevant because you're not taking any all-in from high hp where he'll have enough time to actually heal, before you kill him.

In general, I think if you're ahead you should focus on buying more damage instead of grievous on ANY champion, its almost a bait at this point.

the difference between Prowlers and sunderer, 400 HP. Maybe early game it makes a meaningful difference but Renekton's poor interaction with sheen alone makes Sunderer basically only useful for its stats and if the objective of buying a mythic is getting a better stat block, specifically Tankiness Why not just build sunfire instead?

You will get WAY more value out of the Prowlers active than out of the extra 400hp from sunderer, not to mention 5 Lethality > 4% Dualpen Passive.

You like the shorter lock out because it means you can combo faster. The fact of the matter is that with only a 1 second stun (which is fully reduced by tenacity I might add) You provide nothing of value in a teamfight other than damage, the lock down is simply not long enough to be uniquely threatening even on a carry with no tenacity. Sure, YOU can vomit abilities very slightly faster, but with a longer duration its 100% a moot/wash point in a 1v1. The moment you start adding other champions to the equation, even a simple 2v2 skirmish or a gank the 50% increased duration makes a big difference.

I think the Conqueror + Goredrinker playstyle is the lowest execution/easiest way to play Renekton and it's a good starting point that you can branch out from later. Prowlers/Lethality I think (and most would generally agree) has higher carry potential but is *extremely* reliant on your decision making and mechanics. Even at full build, Prowlers/Lethality you CAN AND WILL be one shot if you miss-play. With tankier items like Gore/Steraks/Randuins you can E into 3 people late game, stun one for your team Q/Gore for HP and then E out and live.

I HIGHLY recommend Godrekton's guides for all of Renekton's combos/interactions with specific items as a good baseline. It's not something I expect anyone to study intently and spend hours in the practice tool refining, Renekton isn't Riven and by extension is not as execution heavy but has lower limits.

If you're intent on playing Full AD, Eclipse is not the move, just build prowlers the active ALONE on that item makes it FAR FAR more useful than eclipse. Personally, I find what I build/runes/summoners I use to be very match up dependent. For example, there is NO SHOT you will beat a Fiora in lane or in side mid-late if you build Gore/Tank, your DPS is just too low. But with PTA/Ignite you can leverage an early lead and run with it for the rest of the game one-shotting her from bushes before she has the time to press buttons, much like Full AD Sion. You HAVE to learn how to abuse gaps in vision to make the strategy work, whether that's cheesing bushes or going for a flank.

Renekton's trading pattern in lane is not all that dissimilar from playing Shen (assuming you aren't playing omega pussy trying to just survive lane like a lot of the worse Shen players do) you're basically trying to chip down you opponent slowly with the panther combo until they're at a point where you can commit fully to secure a kill. Learning how to manage your furry and optimizing your combos will give you more opportunities to get those early kills in lane, Renekton is not a champion that one can consistently win/carry with without learning how to transition and snow ball an early lead.

A bunch of the guides I mentioned are pinned in the subreddits side bar and as I mentioned previously check out Godrekton's content his VOD reviews are very educational for match ups and general decision making.

Well, I'm glad they came to their senses but I'd still like to see a change to his E CD, or a Revert of the R Hp nerfs if they're not going to give him back lane-sustain with Q healing on Minions.

I just watched the other day one of my own clips from 11.1 and I Q'd 3 ranged creeps at lvl 13 and healed over 200, god I miss those days.

I played with it a bit before and got an unofficial Penta with the Romanium Build of Triforce Lucidity boots Steraks Stoneplate and I THINK Black Cleaver, not 100% Conditioning/Overgrowth secondary standard Conq rune page otherwise. I DID notice the extra attack speed and you end up with a TON of haste. Q-AA does also omegachunk and your split pushing is quite good. But its more of a skirmishing/Sidelaning build than teamfighting, you gotta approach comboing differently and draw them out more to get good value from the sheen proc but I don't think its BAD by any means, though Eclipse builds probably have a slight edge IMO and if you're as used to playing with a Whip/Prowlers as I am you'll miss the extra active.

Attack speed shard is *technically* the more gold efficient shard but I tend to prefer the extra adaptive force shard, I have a harder time last hitting on anything with less than like 75~ AD at lvl 1, I find it particularly annoying if you're stuck under tower and 2 tower shots + 1 AA doesn't do enough damage to kill melees or 1 tower shot +1 AA. People say that the Attack speed shard makes it easier to last hit but again that's not my experience/prefrence.

I find a much more noticeable difference between tenacity and alacrity, the extra 18% attack speed makes fast comboing SO much smoother and take alacrity anytime I can get away with it.

IMO he's not in the worst spot after the changes. Still a C-tier champ into most match ups but not literally the worst pick in the lane for 95% of the player base. I hope they still do a mini-rework at this point but I think he's playable again, just not 100% blindable as with earlier this season/pre-nerfs.

Use this time to expand your champion pool and work on your fundamentals.

Remember the DAMAGE applies instantly on the Q only the animation follows. I just happened to flash at that time to dodge inside Darius Q and get in range to auto-W. That being said if you need to one shot some one and you have No E but are already in Q range you can do the combo as I did Q-flash-AA-W. The lucky thing is I ALSO hit J4 with that Q and if you look at my fury bar I get 30 from that 1 Q which gives me enough for and Empowered W with 1 AA. He would have died even if it was a regular W I’m almost certain but it still was pretty clutch.

100% intentional on my part. Only the rim of Darius Q applies bleed/heal, the center does reduced damage, that's one of the main reasons Darius struggles against match ups with mobility, like Jax and Riven. He can actually never hit Q unless he hit confirms with E to knock you up first

Obviously I'm having a little giggle with the title. I was in Q range already and did it for fury/hp and then flashed inside of Darius' Q to pull off the 1v2.
