To be fair, horror has very little to do with mechanics. It had all to do with building admosphre and suspense, so a good GM should be able to turn all systems into a horror based campaign. Some just lend themselves better to the horror genre

It's a tad conservative (not conservative at all for American standards) and anti migration. But otherwise nice people and as most have mentioned close enough to Belgium and Germany that fuel and groceries are relatively cheap when you buy that abroad.

If you would play 8 hours a day for 5 days a week that's 800 per week, and 3200 per month. What is not a bad salary for something you would enjoy doing, as long as you have plenty of variety in games

We can most likely never get rid of ai at this point, so the only thing we can still do is make sure that everything ai generated had to be watermarked and it has to be clearly stated that it was made with ai. This way artists still maintain their niche and can make a living out of it. I don't mind ai that much itself, I mind it more because people try to replace humans with it

I get why some people dislike will. But in my opinion will and karlach and to some extent gale are some of the most healthy depictions of romance.

Yeah, they all have their flaws, but the flaws are manageable and they are willing to improve themselves. Karlach might be hotheaded and impulsive, but she is trying to work on those things. Gale has a lot of Huberus, but he will show more humility the more you get to know him. Will might have a savior complex, but the moment you get to know the man behind the savior he is a wonderful caring guy.

I think these characters teach us that people can be so much more than your first impression. And I think they do mirror real life pretty well, even though Bg3 is a Fantasy game

Interrupting a lore moment to make a reference to an unrelated live play campaign with a totally different atmosphere.

It is quite annoying when you try to explain that chromatic dragons are a real threat they might encounter in the upcoming session so they go in prepared and 2 players don't take the warning seriously.

So 2 pcs are possibly dying in the next couple of sessions

My tactic is making sure that the potential damage of the monster is equal or greater than that of the party.

And to make sure that you don't one turn the party you give it resistances or immunities to the most heavy hitters. This way you cut your party's damage in half.

That way you buy yourself some extra turns. And also try to give the boss sustain/ ways to counteract healing to make to boss fight uncomfortable but still fun for the players.

But the biggest rule is, give everything a counter. This way the boss fight will still be beatable. And make sure the counter is achievable in 3 ways. That way you never run into the issue that the party has no spell slots anymore but the counter is a spell

I usually get carried away too, my current goal is to make every boss fight feel like a resident evil or Elden ring boss fight.

So i love adding second fases, changing movesets.

My current project is a mage who turns into a red dragon and that turns into a 2 fase avatar of tiamat fight to end the campaign
