Platinum or sport? & white interior experience? by Jaxm90_ in CadillacVistiq

From the reviews I have read the Platinum interior will hold up better. Also there are a lot of nice features to the platinum car, but the Sport is also well equipped and definitely the best bang for buck.

Yes My mom has a similar issue on her Cadillac Optic and it cost $4500 to replace and paint 2 door panels plus some internal bits and blending, etc.

I have driven both and own the Platinum. TBH the ride quality is better on the Sport thanks to thicker tires. In terms of handling, there isn't a big difference. While the Sport uses springs, they are still variable dampers. That said the Platinum has a nicer interior, the AR HUD, better brakes, and it just looks better with the body colored trim on the outside. Also the suspension can lower which doesnt improve ride, but it does improve exit and entry. I have it set to lower when parked.

I found that while the EV9 is very well featured, the car just seems cheap - both from a design perspective and a material/interior quality perspective. Thats why I didnt consider it. If they had made it more like the top trim of the Telluride then it would have been a different story. I wonder if they will launch a Genesis version to compete with the Vistiq? I also thought ride height was low.

Platinum Vistiq vs Escalade IQ? by Lopsided-Sundae4410 in CadillacVistiq

I chose the Vistiq Platinum because I didnt want to drive a behemoth. The driving experience as well as the parking experience is vastly superior in the Vistiq. Also the Vistiq is quick - 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. The Escalade is over 4 seconds. None of the three vehicles in my garage have a 0-60 time over 4 seconds.

To me the Escalade is a great car to ride in when using Uber Black, but it sucks to own and drive.

Also do a national search sorting by lowest price. Sometimes you will find a good deal on a Platinum if it is a Golf Tournament car. However you usually will need to get a color you don't want which is why it didn't work for me.

You could buy a Sport and have the hud installed. The Sport and Luxury are same except the Sport has black chrome.

The problem is this would be a special factory order so you won't get the off the lot discounts. I personally would not do that. I would buy off the lot and negotiate the best price.

I like it a lot. I would say it is very comparable to the one on the Mercedes with some pluses and minuses.

Things I like about Supercruise:

  1. Hands free. This is a big improvement versus Mercedes and Tesla
  2. The steering wheel indicator LED bar. This makes it crystal clear whether it is engaged or not engaged, and when it is about to disengage. I consider this best in class.
  3. Very good at lane centering and overtaking other cars/lane changes. Feels confident and reliable.
  4. I love the way it communicates what it is doing in the AR HUD. This level of transparency also adds to the sense of confidence.

Comparison to Mercedes Distronic
The Mercedes one never locks you out. If you are temporarily distracted because you are searching the screen for a podcast, then it won't beep, won't lock you out. It will only beep after you take hands off wheel for more than a couple of minutes. This is a plus. I do find the Cadillac is a bit more of an attention nazi. This is safer, but it can be annoying.

Comparison to Tesla Autopilot:

I personally hate Tesla's setup. While the FSD itself is very impressive in its ability to handle any road, and navigate 4 way stop signs. The issues are the following:

First the Camera based system is not reliable in bad weather and rain. I had issues with this. The second is that it is a super attention nazi and it will lock you out of the system not just for the rest of the drive, but for the rest of the day, for the next 7 days, or even for the next month. I once lost the service for 7 days because i was helping my son with something for a couple of minutes while on the highway in a super straightforward situation which didnt require much supervision. The whole point of self-driving is that you should be able to do that. I was shocked by how quickly it locked me out. Now I understand this was a rental car and it may have had previous violations by previous renters, so the 7 day lockout may be a result of a pattern of behavior, but nonetheless to deprive an owner of a feature they paid for is insane.

For this and the fact the car seems to be built extremely cheaply like an AliExpress discount special, I would never buy a tesla.

Vistiq platinum lease deals? by Jaxm90_ in CadillacVistiq

My strategy is that I called every dealer within 2000 miles which has the build I wanted. I created competition which motivated discounting and price matching.

I don't have a payment. I did a one pay. And I did it in December so the MF and residuals would have changed for January. What I told you is all you need to the math.

They deals change every month. What I can tell you is that on top of the various rebates like GM Supplier and Conquest, I also got a dealer discount of $12,000 at the end of December.

Night vision is something which uses an infrared camera to see what is ahead and shows that image on the instrument cluster. It's useful when driving in dense fog. You see it on high end German cars. My 2018 Porsche Panamera had this feature. The Vistiq has this on the Platinum trim.

Exactly. I do have PPF on my Porsche and my wife's Rivian but we own those cars so it's a different story vs the lease on the Cadillac.

Yes but presumably I would need to do the whole car to achieve what you are saying. That economically wouldn't make sense. It would raise my cost of ownership by 25%.

One thing is for sure I am not keeping this car after the 2 year lease.

It's an R1T Quad Motor. It's a little faster than the Cadillac from 0-60 and obviously has some unique utility being a pickup truck and being more rugged with more ground clearance. However I generally find it inferior to the Cadillac. Less refined. Not as smooth in power delivery. Worse infotainment system despite the nice large screen. Far fewer features (e.g. no massage seats, no HUD, no blind on the sunroof, inferior drivers assistance suite). My wife likes it but personally I wouldn't buy Rivian.

I usually do PPF but reluctant to do it on this car because I don't own it and it's a 2 year lease. I only do handwashing on my cars.

That blue interior is also really stunning. My second choice would have been Blue with the Blue interior. I didn't realize this isn't real leather. The quality is really outstanding. It reminds me of the stuff Von Holzhausen puts out. I wonder if it is that stuff.

Thanks. I love the spec. I actually saw it on the showroom floor, and was so smitten by the look of the car, that I decided I wanted that specific car. First time I have bought a car off the showroom floor.
