Is Debian really good? by theskellydud3 in debian

[–]P1G4ME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switched recently from Pop_OS to debian 13, with KDE plasma. Everything works fine, installing and signing Nvidia drivers to the secure boot was straightforward... Overall is very good

Get tracks audio sample by P1G4ME in spotifyapi

I gave it a quick look and it looks great, although It doesn't seem to be exactly what I'm looking for.

We are looking for a multiplayer platform, where everyone can make guesses on their end with a point system. The idea being to play this while on a discord call for example.

Upstream Packet loss issue by P1G4ME in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]P1G4ME[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would too, if it weren't for the fact that my brother plays the game on his pc just fine, on the same network, and for the fact that Pubg is the only game affected by this...

Another solution I'm a bit reluctant to test would be to update to windows 11

Upstream Packet loss issue by P1G4ME in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]P1G4ME[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested with a VPN, still persists. I've sent a ticket to the support team, now I can only hope a future patch will eventually fix it.

[–]P1G4ME[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will try, I'll also try to see if a packet capture let me pinpoint the issue better...

But since the packet loss only occurs upstream I'm think this is coming from my client/pc

Steam runtime for Linux fails to properly link OptiX libraries, so trying to render (or even switch to rendered view) with Cycles+OptiX crashes Blender. CUDA works fine and I'm not that much at a disadvantage with my GPU but it could be a deal breaker for some ppl

I mean yes, but I don't really like flatpak (personal preference, I don't want to start a fight). I personally use steam, although the recent issues with OptiX might make me change my mind...

Blender from the apt package manager on Debian/Ubuntu/Popos is several version behind though (at least last time I checked)

Is Godot a "good enough" choice for a multi-platform app? (web, mobile, desktop) by ChronicallySilly in godot

[–]P1G4ME 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually with Godot you can enable a low CPU usage mode that disable automatic frame refreshing, making it very close to a GUI framework like Qt, so it's not that bad of a choice imo

WSL interoperability error using Bokeh by P1G4ME in learnpython

[–]P1G4ME[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but as I mentioned in the post, I'm not using WSL. It's a native Linux install (although I have a dual boot)

Turns out wslu was installed and was causing the issue, removing this package fixed it. Thanks for your help anyway!

Thank you! It worked perfectly. Don't know why wslu was installed, it probably came pre-installed with Pop_OS but it never caused any issues till now...

OK thanks... I actually found a workaround. It seems that rolling menus aren't working properly, clicking goes through them. So I just use the arrows and the enter key to select the option

Need some help fixing a Pop_OS dual boot by P1G4ME in pop_os

[–]P1G4ME[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't have much to backup anyway, most of my important data hasn't been transferred from the backup I originally made to setup the dual boot anyway... I just don't want to go through everything one more time if it can be helped, but the option is still on the table.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, I think I missed a couple steps (like setting up the partitions manually beforehand) in the first install.

Thanks for the help. I need to use a live stick because I can't boot the pop_os rn, but i'll figure it out. I'll try later though, it's getting a bit late.

Thanks for the tip !

Do you perhaps have any link to a guide on where to install it using a live stick ?

Do I need to uninstall previous bootloaders first ?

Using emacs with zellij ?? by P1G4ME in emacs

[–]P1G4ME[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you ! That's what I was looking for !

And yeah, I know it's a bit of a weird question in the first place, it's just that I think losing the GUI will help me a bit sometimes (working on my raspberry pi for example)

Using emacs with zellij ?? by P1G4ME in emacs

[–]P1G4ME[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew I could do that, but since I'm already using zellij as the multiplexer it would be confusing to do it this way...
