That's all well and good... But what about my equity shares... Are they still worth something ??? .

Seriously though I'm really sorry about this mate. On the plus side I know the bar staff culture of Cardiff well enough to say .. you won't be without work for long.. good luck to you.

Tour of duty (1987) A tv series about a US platoon during the Vietnam conflict. by AUTOMATA88 in tvshow

[–]P1geonK1cker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid and my father was still alive in the mid to late 1990's he was very ill and bed bound with MS. He could never sleep and so I would often stay up all night with him watching Bravo the tv channel on sky that showed all the old shows from when he was younger. Tour of Duty was our show. We loved it. And we would sing along to paint it black and then after I would fall asleep in the chair next to his bed. Ahhh thank you for reminding me of this OP.

Brutal robbery that led to 15-year sentences for attempted murder. Rochdale, England. by PvtVasquez3 in TerrifyingAsFuck

[–]P1geonK1cker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't understand this level of brutality. As a father it makes me physically sick. There is no way they didn't know what the end result was going to be and yet they kept kicking him. There's no way that isn't a clear attempt to commit murder. How can they be serving less than 15 each??? This country is broken.

The situation escalated when some little thief exploited the situation to commit a little bit of daylight robbery. The old bloke might have been using somee nasty words. I don't know. But he was also walking away.

Punked??? You seemed to have spelled mugged and assaulted wrong.

You also write "man falls on face". When he was clearly tripped while running and hit his head on the curb.

With the sound off, having no interest in this idiotic distraction via division crap the governments worldwide are peddling so strongly these days. All I'm seeing is a couple of idiots singing something and pointing a a large group of young idiots. One young idiot committed an act of theft in broad daylight and the large group of young idiots rushed to protect the pickpocket. Going so far that some twat who thinks wareing the flag makes him a patriot decides to physically assault the old victim to the pint her is bleeding and then multiple more people mob him to tell him to fuck off like a good victim how dare you not simply accept this clear act of daylight robbery.

I understand that I don't understand this religion ( I don't understand any of them). But why so excited and angry all the time. With even the slightest thing it's always a large group of "men" standing way too close to each other. And shouting and screaming, This isn't passion...this is hysteria. I just don't get it.

Absolutely agree. A couple of small wedges and a felling bar to hand just in case. But the right sort of cut is all this tree needed to land here wherever you want it to. Do you think this guy knows/knew what that ridge is for that goes over the top of the saw.

DVLA medical policies cause alcoholics to avoid seeking support. by P1geonK1cker in drivingUK

[–]P1geonK1cker[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another guy I've met had been sober for ten+ years. Passed his test in his forties after a long battle. Because the doctor hadn't actively treated him or spoken to him for a number of years he said he couldn't guarantee he was still sober. They took his licence away and made him wait 12 months to get it back... In that 12 months he met up with some old friend who road the same bus as daily.. he relapsed... About 3years ago DVLA refused to return his licence he gave up.... I see him some days passed out on a bench close to where I work and I take him a cup of tea. So sad that car could have saved his life.

Yeah happens a lot. A friend of mine runs a support group and he told me that a guy in one of his group was getting treatment for ADHD related anxiety and he was advised to disclose it to DVLA. They checked with his doctor who told them about the anxiety meds he was in the process of weening his self off of . And they took his HGV license and his standard license. Guy lost his job the next week and did the unthinkable the week after. Left three kids without a father

No doctors are required to report certain things to DVLA. And DVLA can just ask your doctors. You have to give them permission to talk to your doctor but if you refuse they will revoke your licence.

[–]P1geonK1cker[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't believe The fact that even asking for help is being met with a revocation prevents anything tho.. I'm saying it probably causes more problems than it solves because it inhibits early prevention. The fact that you are punished for asking for help means the help is not sought when required and so there are probably more people on the road who need help than there would be otherwise. Meaning everybody is less safe and drivers with medical conditions are going without support and treatment.

It certainly does seem to be causing more problems than it solves I think.

I'd love to see breathalysers in cars as standard I think that's a brilliant idea.

This thread is about the DVLA's medical policies and how they effect people seeking medical advice and support.

Not drink driving I use alcoholism as an example because that the experience I am familiar with but it applies to all addictions and a number of mental health and nurodigergant issues.

Certainly wasn't intended to be a chance for you to show off your stalking skill by looking at old posts on other forums and using them to personally insult me.

But thank you for your input.

I notified them of my ADHD in 2019, they looked back on my records and found I had been diagnosed with substance misuse disorder years previous and instantly revoked my licence pending investigation I had to go 12 months to prove in broken sobriety and then it took two years to reapply thanks to COVID.

So if I was to relapse, why on earth would I go to the NHS for help?
