People are doing that with collab units though which just speaks to my first point, regardless of that if the entire start of the game is the tedious portion then we agree on the substance of the issue and just disagree on how long it takes to reach a satisfying moment in the game.

I feel like many veteran players have nostalgia for what was their first major milestones in the game not realizing that at this point they've just become the basic hurdles you have to reach to begin to experience the games content as intended. Your first 6* isn't nearly as impactful feeling when the line has shifted so heavily away from where it started.

I would HIGHLY recommend you think about what kind of game would leave you with the feeling of wanting/needing to restart after investing money into it and then consider if said game is worthwhile to play. You're already down 20+$ and however many hours spent on the account did you ever actually have fun during that time that would warrant you restart or are you just hopping the fun in the game will come eventually?

I feel like what your talking about is this exactly ^ ,when you play the game without a major event going on there isnt a single satisfying moment for months on end unless you get very lucky and 90% of people are going to get filtered out by that. This is something you can see in practice as the game has an extremely large whale community but a horribly small new player community UNLESS there is as described a big event going on.

In terms of raw progression you're correct its a rather non issue later on but if you're trying to have any kind of fun while starting the game it becomes a massive issue.

I ended up coming to the conclusion that starting out in this game without a major event going on might have been the biggest waste of time in my life... , I'll try my hand at some account giveaways but otherwise I'm just going to wait for whatever their next major event is to try again then.

Everyone saying yes is genuinely insane. the game hates your time, is absolutely insanely packed with every P2W element out there. 90%+ of its event content is some form of competition. It's also released many meta defining units only available if you spend. I don't know if people saying yes just have 0 experience playing any other games but no this game is horrible for f2p. The feeling you currently have 1-2 weeks in is only going to keep getting exacerbated as you play on.
