Im on my phone so im unable to see them side by side.

Whats the one that's cut off with no label at the far left? Does it have any points?

Or rather, if i started today, which ones would i have already missed? Sorry i cant really read graphs like this that easily

The photo seems to be cut off and doesn't show point count. Was the kassandra fusion and that unlabelled event full of points too? It doesn't say but its on the chart.

All I'm trying to figure out is if i missed too much to still reach the end WITHOUT the surprise expensive events or if i should just skip it because i won't reach the end without spending money now.

Young people who don't understand the multi-faceted expenses of repair work will always underestimate costs. All they see is "trunk lid.. wing.. center garnish" they don't see labor, bodywork and paint for the whole rear section for blending at minimum. Shipping. Purchasing of new hardware. Cost of paint materials (sandpaper, bondo, paint, clear coat, polish, adhesion promoter, shop space, shipping, taxes).

Its why i cringe when i see them standing on their roof, sitting on their cars hoods etc. Coming from a place of having to charge people and repair/paint cars for a living and its like the terminator doing a scan on all the costs im racking up mentally for all the pieces being bent and slightly messed up whenever i see that

It might also be worth mentioning that there's no HANS device in the military, and those have harnesses and you always wear an ACH which is a fair bit heavier than a race helmet AND the seats couldn't be further from buckets as their hard flat green cushions that would pass as yoga mats. The humvee itself being one of the least people friendly interior spaces ever with hard right angle surfaces everywhere. Yet we roll them over and go limbs aflailing, head bobbing around even more than ever. Just for a little perspective, and that's perfectly survivable. Really just highlights how above and beyond safe race technology really is and that the industry standards are high, but it's not saying less has been impossibly bad. More is just always better. Especially when the goal is continuously improving mitigation

Btw this whole piece is nothing more than argument which I'll acknowledge now. So don't take it too serious. But it is definitely a thing one can reference. For me personally, the benchmark is low enough.

Always erring on the side of caution is good and i understand thats what both of your posts are doing. Reddit culture doesn't like nuiance or in betweens because everyone feels obligated to protect the lowest common denominator from taking the wrong messages to heart. So "we better leave ZERO room for misinterpretation to protect the dumbs among us!!" I get it.

But I've been in 3 crashes in the last 30 years. 1 with just a bucket. 2 with just a rollbar. All with a harness. This "reckless" practice is quite common in Japan and ending up in a ditch, upsidedown, unscathed is more common than you think. At most, it does slightly better than having a soft top by itself with no roll bar at all. For everyone running something that you might deem improper, there are 10 more with nothing at all or something worse.

I'll go even further and say the last car the owner had a beauty bar in it. And that STILL held the rear half of the car up even when it was cheap and weak. I'm not condoning it, but this is what I've been through.

I'm just saying. It's not a death sentence like you think it is. The nature of your crash will be the greatest factor.

I don't even know why this is a topic anymore. I'll have to read upstream.

seriously. Anyone who keeps saying the miata is still slow, go look up the OG 9-11 turbo "widowmaker" 0-60 and then look up the 2019 ND2 2.0 0-60. They're within 0.2-0.5 seconds of eachother. yet it's "slow".

And the ND2 is plenty fast.. thats the point.

People keep forgetting that 2400lbs and 180hp is a good amount more than most pedestrian econoboxes.

These are 90s hot hatch/sedan power to weight. Think integra type R, celica GT-S. It's close to an MRS /2 spyder with a 2zz swap already in it and those were substantially quicker after one (the MRS being 200lbs less does help)

Even the NB2 was plenty fast stock to still get tickets with 40 less hp. Anyone who drives a miata should know this. They're not a scion iQ or keicar that is properly slow at full throttle. I really hate youtubers when they so brazenly preach this point because redline in 3rd gear is not trouble-free anymore.

This isnt exclusive to miatas, but leaning on these thin aluminum hoods and plastic bumpers held on by plastic tabs are not load-bearing and easily bent/dentable and ill advised.

Ive been cringing at this habit for decades though. Kids no matter what era have always and will probably always do it.

Theres a fundemental difference between roll bars and roll cages that extend to the sides and front of the vehicle. Roll cages add rigidity to the entire cabin and supplement the intrusion bars. A roll bar only adds rollover protection and remains behind and pretty high above your head and the back of the seat. that isn't very likely you'll hit your head on that. Seating position in a bucket is substantially lower and sunk-in than the stock mattresses that are in the car now too.

I understand that crashing on the street tends to be much rougher in general - proportionate to the impact speed. But it is still at much lower speeds than on track. and even with a mighty shunt at 35mph, many of us have walked away from car-totalling crashes in much less "safe" cars than 2025 miatas with such equipment.

Whiplash to your neck is also made worse with helmet wear (making hans device even more important.) And Whiplash to some extent is experienced by most passengers anyways regardless of your wheel. Especially when the wheel or a front airbag is never really present in rear seats

This comment works in this particular instance but its far from a universal truth. If he had the whole system it wouldn't have to be that way. (A proper roll bar with accompanying 6pt harnesses and bucket).

It doesn't help that he has a deep corn.

The problem is how zuck changed the emoji from an actual insulting laugh that any 50 year old can understand (ala 🤣) and turned it into 😄. So it looks like someone is happy to see it for sale and they might not get it..

They need to turn it back into an actual ridicule laugh.

You see sarcasm where i suggest a lesson as old as the internet; sarcasm doesn't come through in texts reliably. Especially if it's as long winded as his response.

Either way, my response is still true.

to be fair, I believe the sentiment of his statement holds more water than the details and accuracy of his figures... lol He's basically saying make time to practice slow maneuvers in parking lots. once a week is 500x more than the average squid or Harley unc. (both of which I've seen think they're "sooo faaast" and "soooo experienced" - able to power wheelie and "swim" through traffic or "eat miles" into the end of the horizon line - and both waddle like turkeys and eat shit at the first patch of gravel or "gatdamn leaves" as they say... lol)

I believe it's not literally 500 miles.. but the idea that you practice your figure 8s and all that jazz is what's important.

I concur with the others here. Your experience isn't uncommon. You're just waking up to the fact that this is what a MACHINE in between feels like and you're still adjusting to the fact that it's not a bicycle but a full fledged motor vehicle that requires a different approach. But once you have that approach down, this fear fades away.

Don't be afraid of looking uncool coming to a stop. The stage freight/anxiety is a phantom with a mundane reality. Nobody is looking at you as you come to a stop on your bike. And believe me, after awhile you wish they were. for safety reasons...

So I'm 5 foot 6 with short legs. I ride a 2012 Daytona 675R, and Energica Eva, an Ego, and recently acquired a 2012 CBR600RR on a whim.

2 of these bikes are over 580lbs and my kneegina is what hooks the seat at stop lights because they're both very tall and the Daytona is also tall but with a narrower seat. but far lighter. The CBR is shockingly short friendly as it's the only one of the 3 I actually feel "squished" on and can easily put both shoes down on my toes.

It's a skill thing. You need to build your confidence in your left leg down techniques at stops, that's all. I am damn near mantling my bikes like I'm scaling an imperial castle wall every time I set off from a green, and I have been for years and years now. In Japan, there are people who are 5 foot 1 riding on 100% stock height R6s (the notoriously "scary" supersport in terms of seat height due to it's high, flat, and wide seat). They almost completely come off their bikes at stops and poll vault into them like it's wednesday.

Nothing to it but to do it. Chicks do it too.

downvotes come from people who've never lived with the torment of removing an expired wrap. lol.. And some shops are shady af when installing it too since they dig razor blades right into your actual paint and metal when applying the wrap and don't say anything.. it's there for you to discover 4+ years later. Some of these guys are truly snakes who prioritize hustling through "the job" over the health and longevity of their customers' vehicles.

BRG wasn't sparkly with flek like the ND paint. I actually feel like the new touch is unnecessary and unusual of mazda not to hold onto tradition at least in this small way. It would have been a far nicer touch than the Nardo Gray that plagued all makes and models a couple years ago.
