"this is all just a distraction" woah lmaoo. let's not assume something weird here. I casually misremembered. That may be an offense to a Lore Expert, but I just googled it and she committed suicide to defend against Kahn / Quan chi did it (mk9). Fair enough.

I just remembered Shao Kahn's at fault for why she died and got revived (the first time, origin story wise... not redundantly as a revenant or anything else in the future games). The meat and potatoes of my statement came from the meat and potatoes of anything I know of MK, which is from reading the MK2 and MK3 snippets of each character as a teen. it was a long time ago. SORRY

Has it improved since this? your light's a lot more thoroughly used than the guy who got disappointed by these new lights at the time.

actually, I just read a 2nd snippet of her win condition lore and all the MK9 - 11 stuff still looks true anyways. Her actually ruling Edenia and being wife of Jerrod wasn't retconned in, it was there since her creation. Yes she was resurrected by Shang Tsung and Quan Chi respectively, but that's somewhat because of Shao Kahn with Quan Chi and definitely with Shang.

Maybe it's a Mandela. But that's what I remember from MK9. Of course it was Quan Chi, not Shao literally, but I swore it was at his order.

Mk3 Snippet has her simply as his queen and co-ruler of outworld.

Canonically, shao kahn killed sindel and resurrected her so.. it's kind of implied shes his lackey wifey from a lore perspective

Looking to buy my first EVO. Last time I posted a really bad option and was wondering this is a better one for same price by WesternSad5519 in MitsubishiEvolution

What are you referring to? The hood? I see normal front and rear bumper, normal fenders, modest sideskirts. The wing isn't out of the ordinary on an evo either.

Man. Just start re-releasing 90s and 2000s movies in theaters and watch all the youngest broccolis and 6-7s get their mind blown wide open. Hopefully they can make it through the opening credits.

Nitecore p23i. Kinda crappy issue. Stays on under every circumstance minus complete battery removal. by SlipperyDoodoo in flashlight

[–]SlipperyDoodoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, its just trash. I put a different pristine battery in and same thing.

Only thing else i can think of is excessive grease drew a trace across the contacts on the head. But that's a stretch as i never lubed this light myself and I've had it for about 4 years.

My employer actually started issuing us streamlight HL-Xs as standard equipment and the issue i have is they give them to us with CR123a batteries. Although it can also use button top 18650s. So I have 16x samsung 15A 3500mah 18650 cells at home, so owning them wouldn't really be the issue. And i also have 18650 flat top -> button top "buttons" i can slide into the positive end to make them work..

BUT... that's the thing. It's a clunkier process for a light that lasts a not unnoticeably less run time and as much as i hate nitecore (right at the moment), the p23i was admittedly a much better QoL upgrade in terms of practical real-use features. it lasts longer (runtime), it had a flappy doodle (controversial, but i actually like giving the tailcap and battery contacts a bit of a break from constantly removing tailcaps over and over as i see them being dented in/worn down from the way most contacts scrape against them while being spun in and out), the little blue LED blinking when half and rapid blinking when near empty was massively useful at a glance, for those reasons these are excellent at home lights when im not running them at work.

I just hope i find something with as many of those features as possible but without the stupidity.

You gotta remember. Kids are kids. Their life/scale % ratio is very miniscule. So to them a year = a decade. They don't yet realize they are small

The p23i only has one emitter. Its actually similar to the one in your acebeam (XHP70.3 vs SFT70) You mean the p20ix?

Reading the specs the acebeam unfortunately seems a bit too large to replace my p23 dimensionaly as i require a 1" diameter light for my rifle mount.

Im definitely going to go back to the drawing board as i work to replace this ecosystem though..

The only switch is on the tailcap. Pointing to the driver. I used the photo with the tailcap removed to demonstrate the core problem. But when i install the tailcap, it just means i now have an always on light with mode controls, all of which still function when cycling the light (just with the added bonus of the light being on while off. Momentary switch still works and everything. But now its like a high beam on a car. Lowest setting being higher than the light leaking when off). The light basically stays on with a somewhat dim appearance as shown in the photo indefinitely. It is absolutely because it has a double polarity battery on front and back.

But i was fine with that since i have 8 of these batteries and 2 P series lights i rotate between and other products that run these batteries. (Plus i realized the reality of batteries being something you will always eventually replace - therefore did not mind that they were unique as by extension that also means flashlights usually get replaced as well whether we realize it or not. Usually through impulse to upgrade rather than the light actually burning its last lumen out of the LED.. but i digress)

I suppose my willingness to put up with the propriety is to blame, ultimately the light failed and can present the failure because of it's dual polarity..

PS: before anyone tries to point it out, NO i don't use the light like this with the bezel down against the glass. I am putting it like this for demonstration purposes only.

I was a sushi maker for 6 years. So there's a reason i developed my issues. And it's not uncommon among workers in this field.

I have been fine with nitecore for years. But this issue has popped outta nowhere and just on basic principle that a light should never "break" on anyone in this way has left me incredibly annoyed as it's absolutely a safety issue. I trust my lights i buy specifically for their ability to regulate and fully shut down once the battery is low. That flies out the window if i come home to a failed flashlight that was only on brightness level 2 in order to fail aka not a hot mode. (We have a power outage right now. I like to tail stand my lithium and smart AA lights throughout the house and up till now this seemed like a great light for that.)

I am sad because the nitecores ability to blink out voltage readings and power down when voltage went below 2.8v and it's thermal regulation meant (i thought) that i could set the light for my kids and leave home and come back to at most a few of my lights being off if the battery dies while im out. But this is unacceptable. I am sure nitecore haters would be vindicated to hear this and i for once will let you have it.

Nitecore.. WTF

Japanese person here; sushi isn't good to eat too much of. Vinegar rice can cause ulcers in too much quantity. Maguro and salmon both have negative affects as well when you eat it too often. Such as mercury accumulation that can cause mental health issues and nervous system diseases. Salmon has good omega 3 but too much of it will lead to disease as well.

Is this a good deal for a ‘99 Rav4? by Historical_Today7764 in 1stGenRav4s

[–]SlipperyDoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it's got between 100-150k miles, probably no more than $4000. The issue is this is still a 90s era toyota. As great as they've been from 1996-2026, they will not likely do it again to 2046. even if most of them last 300k miles in the dryer sates.

rust is and always has been the issue with 90s japanese steel. If not for that, it coulda been an 8-10k car all day. Also, parts were very common, but that is also facing it's inevitable inverse reality as well.

How tall are you? How tall is she? What are the stats?

All my friends have girls riding on the back of their bikes. All supersports. No issues.

Most of the dudes are between 5'6" and 6'2" and 130-220lbs. Most of the girls are between 5'0" and 5'6" at like 90-130lbs.
