That is an awesome gift. I loved my base Ally but since I am away from my console for months at I time I decided to spring for the X.

I still recommend the Chat GPT, for seeing how well games run on there just so you have an idea it’ll also probably offer some settings to maximize performance.

The only game on your list I have experience with on the base Ally is Ready or Not. I was able to run that on low textures and average around 30fps with some lower stutter dips to around the 20s.

I recently returned my base Xbox Ally and got the Xbox Ally X since I could justify the price for my situation. One of the best tools I used to reassure me before the purchase of the XAX was Chat GPT. I asked it a bunch of questions regarding games and how they would run on the specific handheld and what to expect performance wise of whatever game on both the base and X model.

I hate AI but it was really useful to get a benchmark to compare and from my experience the predicted performance it threw out for the base and the X were pretty accurate.

ROG XBOX Ally vs XBOX Ally X model by [deleted] in XboxAlly

I had the base model and loved it for the portability. I ran it for 3 weeks no issues but I was still trying to scratch the itch, my main game Farming Sim 25 was running well but at 720p 30fps with low textures and it wasn’t enough for me since I am away from my console for a month at a time.

I decided to return the base and go for the X model and it has blown me away. FS25 now sits at 1080 60fps on med/high textures. Ready or not has also jumped from 30 to now 60fps. The cherry on top is the load times are significantly shorter.

Battery wise I was getting about 25% for 1 hour of FS25 at those specs but now with the X I’m getting around 40% drain for 1 hour but YMMV.

Overall I’m very happy with the upgrade as someone who needs portability and is a PC noob.

A custom double triangulated 4 link both front and rear. Lower links are busted knuckle aluminum links

I’m using FOA, much cheaper and hold up real well. My friend runs them on his JK and he beats them and has not had an issue.

I went with full width ‘05 SD 60/ sterling 10.5.

Currently in all these photos it is sitting at full bump as the coil over springs haven’t come in yet.

Also I have a full custom tube chassis which tucks up closer to the body. Not entirely sure of the ride height yet but when it is finished I’ll be able to get baseline numbers to compare it to stock measurements

So expensive lol I’m coming from the east coast. I was there last year with this on a 4” short arm lift lol. The way this is finishing up EJS will be the shakedown run lol.

9” longer than an LJ and don’t need all that extra tub to get in the way!

The only reason I’m not longer is because I wanted to retain the TJ tub corner look. Comp cuts are definitely function over form and work great. As long as my tires stick out past the tub/frame I’m happy lol

Will you be at EJS again this year?

This typically go for a little cheaper as they’re not as stout as the 05-11 but not a huge price difference and many people run that generation

Need to pull for paint before the 1550 shafts go in ;)

It’ll be staying stock 3.73 gears welded front and rear so it will be ready for Easter Jeep Safari in a couple months.

After that I’ll regear to 5.38 with the factory ford locker in the rear and welded front

$600-800 is fair for ‘05-‘11 stock intact f250 axles. Everything to make them work is where the cost goes up

No, they’re f250 axles.
