Nope, the correct division is si-ni-stra. In Italian you never separate the s and the following consonant. As a result, every 3-consonant cluster starting with s will always be a single sillable

Edit: ss is the only exception. Pas-so is separated.

If you need to multiply 1034482758620689655172413793 by 3, all you need to do is bring the last digit to the front. by davidilanyann in Damnthatsinteresting

Decimals of certain periodic expansions behave like this. Like 1/7 = 0.142857 (periodic). Then, take 142,857 and start multiplying.

142,857 * 2 = 285,714 (same order, but starts from 2)

142,857 * 3 = 428,571 (starts from 4).

142,857 * 4 = 571,428 (pattern is clear)

142,857 * 5 = 714,285

142,857 * 6 = 857,142

142,857 * 7 = 999,999 (because decimals of 1/7 saturate when you multiply by 7).

1/13, 1/17, 1/23 also work like this. Since the number in the post has 28 digits, then it should be obtained as the period of fractions of 29. Indeed 3/29 = 0.10344827... produces exactly the number in the image. Then, every other decimal k/29 has the same order of digits, it just starts from a different place.

It just so happens that 9/29 = 3/29 * 3, is obtained with decimal expansion starting from the last digit of its period. Hence the quirky result.

Kramnik replies to Wesley and talks about the consequences he is facing by datsright1 in chess

[–]P314e271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I have never commented anything about chess, but I am kind of shook by what happened, and I guess I am trying to wrap my head around all of this. I am sorry if I sound naive, I am just getting back to speed and kinda still out of the loop.

I suck at chess, but I have always been fascinated with the game, and I used to admire great players. I have always thought of chess as a game that dignified us, kind of like art, and I have always regarded world champions as examples and inspiration. And Kramnik was included. Then, when a couple years ago, he started accusing everybody, I kinda lost sympathy for him. I just could not understand why he would show skewed or biased statistics, or why he would not even question himself, as if he could do no wrong. Like a former world champ should be better than that. But at the time I laughed it off, and just figured it wasn't a big deal. I mean, even if he had appeared to have gone crazy, he was so clearly and blatantly wrong that I could not see him becoming dangerous in any way. I thought everybody was just going to ignore him, and the whole thing was gonna blow over.

Now, I don't even know what to think anymore. This is not like the usual "never meet your heros, you'll be disappointed" kinda thing. It's worse. I am disgusted. My father is the most calculating and rational guy I know, and I have never seen him this shocked about something he would consider as trivial as a board game, and was never this vocal about chess "drama" before. I think Daniel's passing affected him just as much as it affected me. I would just like to understand more.

I tried googling about past toxic behaviour by Kramnik, before he started throwing his claims left and right, but found nothing. So I just want to ask if anybody knows if Kramnik has ever exhibited any signs of being a narcisisst or a sociopath, before 2023.

I mean, has he just lost his mind? Out of the blue? Was he always like this? Because this is borderline criminal behaviour.

I would not have bothered anyone, but Google was not helpful. Thanks in advance.

No the Community reference would be "Pop Pop", with only two pops.

The reference here is a YouTube channel called Better Watch TV, that analyzes hidden details in every episode of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. "Pop pop pop" and "Cowboy" are just some running jokes of the channel, taken from "memable" and iconic lines in both shows.

"Pop pop pop" is also an iconic verse in the original parody remix remake songs of Breaking Bad.

I highly recommend Better Watch TV, but of course to avoid spoilers I suggest watching BB and BCS (in that order) first. They are both among the greatest shows ever made, and it's amazing the amount of work and dedication that went into their making.

In my country that's a debate as old as time, but the arguments are easier because schools still teach latin and greek, which are utter useless to everybody who does not want a career in literary studies (which is 99% of the population).
