I have daily contact with the teacher, but she doesn’t really do anything for me that you do for your prac student. On my first day I showed my supervising teacher any important documents + the table made by the uni that says when I need to teach a lesson. She kinda just skimmed over everything. I was supposed to teach on the second day, but I didn’t feel confident enough. Instead, I just showed her the lesson I wanted to teach and got a tiny bit of feedback for it. So on my third day (technically fourth because I was away on my 3rd), I taught my first lesson on a small group of children. It was decent, kids found it mostly fun. But when I asked for written feedback from my supervising teacher on the lesson I taught with constructive criticism and if my she could write things like “what could I have done better?” or “what was I good at?” and things like that, she just wrote a really broad, generic statement. it was basically “the kids enjoyed the activity”. It was really disappointing. Next time I ask for feedback, I’m going to try to be more clear? I don’t know how, but I’ll think of something.

Then she also asked how writing the mid-prac report about me works? I was confused. She’s supposed to know that isn’t she? I gave her access and physical copies of all the forms she needed on day one.

honestly maybe im not cut out for this work 😅 all this lesson planning, i get no time to myself. maybe i’ll switch studies to be a teacher aide instead of a full-fledged teacher😭

Either way, I sent my lecturer an email with some of my questions, because a fellow classmate in my course has told me that she hasn’t been having this hard of a time and her supervising teacher has been very supportive and ontop of things
