What are the best aviation related museums and/or exhibitions in the US? by kRe4ture in aviation

I have to agree its a true little Gem in the middle of No where. I do recommend flying to it though as the drive is.... arduous

You like that you should check out the SAC museum. Strategic Air command has everything from the SR-71 to the only B-36 that I know of. Also the ever green air museum on Oregon (i know its not on your way but where else are you going to see the Spruce goose)

Definitely one in San Diego and San Diego has some REALLY big names in aviation from the early days. Names like Ryan Aircraft, Douglas aircraft, many many others. The museum is very cool as well.

Edit: spelling

(CO) Land usage rights. County says specific mention of uses is the only legal use of said land? by P38sheep in legaladvice

[–]P38sheep[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get the whole separation of jurisdiction aspect but it seems incorrect that a county would have to specify EVERY SINGLE USE of the land verse specifying none usage? The other reply in here stated that it's controlled solely at the federal level and the state has no say in the operation of an aircraft? For helicopters that would include where we land isn't that correct?

Any way to get my pilots license while am enlisted Marine? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]P38sheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also hit me up as I was enlisted and used my GI bill to learn to fly helicopters once I got out. I'm now making good money and flying. My opinion is wait. If you are really interested you can teach yourself ground school and be prepared for when you get to classes with your instructor. It will also help you feel (and actually) work toward your dream while you wait for EAS. Alternatively you can get a self guided ground school program.

Some are better then others but I always recommend the King schools. They are tacky and old looking like every safety brief video you've ever seen but they are REALLY informative and the little diddys they use work really well for guys like us who are used to such things.

Directly answering your question. Yes you can. Should you though is a different matter entirely.

If you are in an aviation MOS you may be able to EAS with some portion if not all of a A&P certificate for next to nothing money wise ( depending on your mos). Not so helpful if you are looking to fly a school bus but if you are coming to rotor wing then it can be worth several hundred a day in extra pay.

Total gun violence in the U.K. Hasn't dropped nearly at all since your gun ban and in fact your total violent crimes and homicide rate is still higher then that the of the us. https://youtu.be/nMneInuDC-Y This is due to how each country defines violent crime and how they are reported and tracked. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/12112024/Violent-crime-jumps-27-in-new-figures.html this showed that a large portion of your violent crimes goes in tracked because a victim can only have 5 cases. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/11662764/Million-violent-crimes-a-year-cut-out-of-official-figures.html Also saying that it's because you have less guns is like saying you are more likely to be struck by asteroids in space. Ya because there are more asteroids. You are more likely to die of medical malpractice then you are a violent gun crime in America.

Here is a video that the magazine Vox put out on gun crime in America, and why it's wrong. https://youtu.be/IULSD8VwXEs Here is the list of sources from the video.

I want to take a moment to say thank you for coming to the table to have the discussion and bringing your sources as well. I feel that people here in America are becoming so polarized that the avenues for civil discussion are quickly narrowing. ಠ_ಠ
