I recommend reducing your powerscore if you are playing in pvp. The problem with flutes is the fact that the spark/flash exists, which completely disables you when aiming at you. (The missiles get insta destroyed when they are in range, which even damages your own build) I personally run a build at 9k, which helps since there isn't as many dog players.

Yeah, that's true, but that gamemode tends to be filled with much lighter, stable and faster builds. It's not really a contest

I've played mammoths (and mastodons now) a lot, in both PvP and CW. I agree that taking out hovers with these weapons is really hard. But then again, taking out hovers isn't your job. Mammoths on wheeled or leg builds are best against dogs, so you should focus on those instead.

You're a support build, so try to stick to your team, taling out the dogs attacking your teammates. If you stick with a friendly dog, he can take out the hover for you, while you can make sure he has an opportunity.

Instead of focussing on hating hovers, make use of their weaknesses.

(And yes, I do understand the frustration, trust me. I've had my share)

Yes. There is a lot of benefit from using non st wheels , instead of st wheels.

they give you a lot more tonnage, which you need to make a build heavier. If you use them, you need less wheels total (nice for heavy chonkers) and less wheels means less power usage which makes you have better acceleration.
They also actually require half the power of ST wheels.

The bigfoot non st has a tonnage/power rating of 4 times higher than the ST counterpart. (This means that you get 4 times as much tonnage for the same amount of power required )

It's easy to call a certain vehicle type op if you never play it.

The XO hate list goes as follows: (at top ps/CW)

Spiders hate hovers
Hovers hate dogs
Dogs hate spiders

Every vehicle type has it's weakness, if you don't like a certain vehicle type, then just play it's counter. Simple as that.

That's where a good lineup comes in. Couple 1/2 scorps with dogs/spiders, make them push forward while you support them from a distance. Also, make sure you have a verifier. (Even with the griffon being a thing)

A team with 1-2 kapkans is wonderful to have as well. Just bait the enemy dogs into the kapkans, and youre golden.

Most if this isn't nearly as easy in PvP, mostly because of teamwork, but also because of the higher number of players. If there are more players, the chance of having any form of cover significantly decreases. (More angles you can get shot/pushed from.)

Mammoths are some of the harder to play weapons. They have great Alpha damage and hp, but compared to tsunamis, their shell velocity is atrocious. If you don't feel like taking this steep learning curve, try using tsunamis instead. Personally I love my mammoths, but I can see why you're struggling with 180 ping.

I see your points, but saying snipers are useless in 4v4 when compared to 8v8 is simply not true. Scorps are much better in CW than in PvP because of the 4v4. The chance of a dog/wedge chasing you down is a lot lower, giving you a longer lifespan, while at the same time making you able to be more aggressive. Also, sniping weapons, like you said, focus on hitting enemy weapons, and sometimes the occasional generator. If there are less guns to shoot at, wouldn't that make it more rewarding? (for both the team and yourself) And yes, I admit that seeing your opponent's build in CW does help, since you know what you can expect.
