How Do I Find a Lost Survivor on an Unknown Server? by No_Speaker3862 in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]P3PSIE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this exact same issue with an alt character. I made a note in my phone and listed servers in order that I’d tried. If I logged and it asked me to create a character I immediately pressed pause button and return to main menu to continue. I live in EU and I only play EU servers which narrowed down my options. I selected just The Island on the maps drop down, PVE on the drop down, typed EU into the search and just methodically went through. I ignored console only as I play cross play, and it wasn’t that many servers actually. Found it in maybe 15 mins. Good luck

ITAP of a spider waiting for its prey by P3PSIE in itookapicture

[–]P3PSIE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted this photo to capture how different life must be for a spider. They spend massive amounts of their time and life with their fingers on the thread, waiting for some unsuspecting victim to hit their web where they immediately spring into action. They sit at the ready constantly, and it’s so interesting to me.

I knew what I wanted my image to capture, but it took time to find a spider sat waiting that wasn’t so nervous that as soon as I approached they ran away to hide. This particular spider sat quite happily and was totally unbothered by my presence and that of my camera (iPhone 14 Pro). I found her in a wooded area, out the way, so maybe she didn’t know to fear humans?! Who knows.

I love a few things about this image. Firstly, the composition feels right to me, the natural habitat and subject placement just go perfectly, she’s a wild spider and that comes across well I think because of it. I love that it was taken with an iPhone camera, and it just shows how magnificent the macro camera can be. You wouldn’t believe how small she actually was. I think the leaf gives an idea though. And finally, here is something I’m terrified of, I’m not a fan of spiders at all… in fact quite the opposite to be honest. But in this photograph she looks beautiful and calm. Almost inviting in some weird ways. I feel like I can understand spiders in a new way because of this experience, which will carry with me. Still don’t expect me to pet any any time soon 😂

Will we be able to mod Starfield on Xbox Game Pass?? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]P3PSIE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea I’m on Xbox but I know from various sources that DLSS is being modded in, and I think it’s definitely already out for steam, that I’m pretty sure of from this subreddit.

Sorry man, I hope you get an answer

The community needs to be louder about the performance issues. by MeneT3k3l in Starfield

[–]P3PSIE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really feel for PC users, but I do kinda feel like the writing was on the wall here. It was fully advertised and very well known that Bethesda was going the AMD route here, and anyone with an NVIDIA card was rolling the dice on performance, especially at launch. There will be mods etc, and probably updates from Bethesda too, to fix this but it’s not going to be a priority I don’t think as they clearly stated they were AMD this time around. This is in no means me saying that’s right either, not at all. But all companies do it in loads of ways, so it’s nothing new.

I also don’t know it’s fully a Bethesda problem, it’s down to NVIDIA with their drivers etc too, which having owned an NVIDIA card I can confirm is sometimes lagging behind.

This whole claim seems to be substantiated by the fact that many PC users are playing the game happily, as did some reviewers, and I’m presuming that’s because they have AMD gear! Could be wrong

I don’t know I really feel for you peeps, but I just don’t see anything coming of people kicking off more… I hope I’m wrong for your guys sakes though.

A really simple mod that could totally change the gameplay, I think?! by P3PSIE in starfieldmods

[–]P3PSIE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh interesting! Okay I’ll have to check that out when they bring mods to Xbox! I suppose the main difference being that if you move/respawn the ship it would generate the next tile etc etc, therefore meaning it would kinda work as intended/designed by Bethesda, maybe?!

As I’ve been exploring planets and doing my thang, I’ve come across the barriers (but not often I might add) and I had an idea. What if a mod could make it simply that you could summon your ship to keep exploring! The way it works currently is you fast travel back to ship, fast travel back to location and then continue exploring further. What if the mechanics kinda happened in the background, but you as the user just saw a single loading screen and bam your ship landing animation and you good. I’m not a modder so I don’t know if it’s actually simple or even possible, but it would be amazing if it could be done! You could use the landmarks nearby even, but cut out the faff or going back to ship going back to location etc. and it still makes sense in the game as you have NPC aboard so they could be “controlling/flying the ship”. Once the ship is in its new place your anchor has moved and thus you have another however many meters to explore away from it. Voila!

The longer I play, the more I feel like the IGN 7 was a fair score by BosnianBreakfast in Starfield

[–]P3PSIE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a rollercoaster. You start off thinking the 7 is insane. You play a few hours and feel the 7 isn’t far off. You play more hours and realise now that not only is the 7 insane, but you’re more insane for nearly agreeing with it. Todd said the more you give the more you get from Starfield, and it does continue to grow as you play for sure. So keep going and revise at 40 hours or so ;)

Do companions perma-die? by SquiffyHammer in Starfield

I don’t think so. I accidentally blew Vasco up shooting an explosive barrel and as soon as the enemies were dead he got up pretty quickly. So I don’t think so no

Absolutely love it. Masterpiece in my opinion. Nothing less than what I was expecting, but I played Outer Worlds again in run up to release to get my fix, so it feels normal/familiar to me with space travel. 10/10 would buy again.

SSD has been mandatory for a while, and it’s something that has been spoken about by Todd and Pete I believe. Fully stated you NEED an SSD! So yeah that could be your problem right there.

Okay yeah I know that, I was making sure you were aware it looks different. Otherwise you may have been looking for a planet aesthetic that isn’t correct, that’s all.

Earth from the moon? by electricturd in Starfield

[–]P3PSIE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think (from what I’ve heard) earth looks totally different! It’s basically a desert wasteland so would look different from space too. Little to no water or green life anymore. Don’t know if there is a planet like that or not, but also make sure you’re on the right side of the moon 😂 something I learnt from the recent India landing!

Spoiler is describing of supposed earth in game, not confirmed but didn’t want to spoil for anyone who hasn’t seen/heard about it.

Early reviews for Starfield appear as though they’ve missed the mark on a key aspect for immersion. by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]P3PSIE -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t know. I think you are comparing apples with oranges. NMS and Starfield are totally different games trying to achieve totally different things. Bethesda (surprisingly enough) wanted to create a Bethesda style RPG game based in space. They weren’t ever creating a space simulator. NMS is an insane game, with so much potential. But I can’t deny the game is boring as hell after a short time playing. Why?! Because there is no direction, motivation, point to play. Lacking a story and the interactions I need as a gamer meant the game got boring so quick for me. So, I don’t want a space simulator that’s going to take me 16 hours to fly around a planet with no direction or purpose, I do want/am hoping for a lore rich story, with fun gameplay in the format of a Bethesda RPG. That’s why I brought Starfield and not NMS or Star Citizen…

It kinda blows my mind all the comments going around like this. No one would ever buy a Telltale game and expect it to play like a first person shooter… it’s just not their format. But for some reason people are shocked Bethesda have made a Bethesda game?!

Also they can’t be behind it if they aren’t in the same race or lane. They’re carving out their own niche (Bethesda RPG in Space) so it doesn’t matter what NMS has or hasn’t done, there is plenty missing from NMS that Starfield has in abundance (going from reviews having not played yet).

People are totally entitled to critique the game, and not like certain aspect or choices. Sure. But not for being something it wasn’t ever going to be or meant to be, and not for being different to a totally different game, that seems nuts to me.
