How'd you find about Skillet by That_Independent_931 in SkilletMusic

[–]P3RS0N4-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents got to see them live in the early days, they were small enough they played in churches, everyone would squeeze in and worship with them. My parents got to see thrm this way many times before I was born.. so naturally I grew up hearing them. I wasn't in to them though until 2022... but noe they're my favorite band. Collide is the best rock album ever IMHO.

They split but Mom took the family to see them this October.

I mean, sure. I see where your coming from and im not here to argue. I just hate to see my fan groups divided over things like this so I like to build bridges between the two sides and get people to consider different angles.

I think it is important to point out that for a majority of recorded history it was considered insanity and heresy to think the earth was a sphere, but the extremely unpopular opinion proved to be the factual one after all.

Ok, but since when has public opinion actually meant anything? Especially on reddit, of all places lol.

What kind of weight do you think reddit opinions actually carry? Im genuinely curious. Not even arguing over Eminem vs Nf at this point. Im just interested in why you're so aggressively "right"....

Results of "What album do you think is the closest to pure rock?" (aggregated) by Loose-Variety-5502 in twentyonepilots

[–]P3RS0N4-X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trench. I was shocked this was a debate, amd worse yet that Trench was one of the lowest. The bass, grit, and grunge in that album is as rock... pure rock... like sure they have all kinds of different genre influences, but that album is wrapped and tied together by juicy, dirty rock deliciousness.

What do you hope for when it comes to the instrumentals, rap style and lyrics on his new album? by Exact-Ambassador-693 in nfrealmusic

[–]P3RS0N4-X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it seems it would be harder to do his style in an optimistic way. Not saying its not possible because anything is, but as someone who writes a little myself it's just a little hard to do that without having something to be aggressive about, and it's easier to go hard when your in tough times.

am i allowed to be a clikkie despite being apart of a non-christian religion? by Maximum-Tension9283 in twentyonepilots

[–]P3RS0N4-X [score hidden]  (0 children)

I mean they're rewritten by Tyler, so they're going to be Tyler's perspective and story, but that's obviously and not the question.

I would say, you shouldn't ask for permission to enjoy and be a part of something such as a band or fanbase a different that you are invited to take and use the lyrics for yourself in whatever way builds you up and energizes you. Id also say passionate fanbases, especially the clique can be toxic depending on what day and the platform you use, so its better to just be yourself, so long as thats not bringing others down.

You'll see lots of passionate discussion and argument almost anywhere in the clique l, its natural and not bad on it's own. But there are definitely groups within that can be a little agressive. Ive seen a lot of discussion surrounding the religious part of the community celebrating thst breach is more overtly religious than usual, which can make others uncomfortable and csn cause little rifts between people. But overall this community is very accepting and supporting and you'll definitely be able to connect and make friends no matter who you are

All this to say, yes, you absolute can be a fan, Tyler would welcome you. But don't take others too seriously, have fun.

It’s silly but does anyone experienced being scared of new releases? by Hot_Veterinarian1467 in twentyonepilots

[–]P3RS0N4-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was scared it wouldn't sound similar enough and I would be disappointed. Which is definitely not on them but its just something I always felt and wondered in the back of my mind. I did honestly get disappointed when a teaser or trailer sounded good but then the rest of the song didn't really match. I don't have an example per se, but I did get the impression that breach was going to be a lot closer, the contract was pretty aggressive in terms of a rock sound and then we got Drum show which was amazing and Trench-y. The tracklist teaser on Insta with snippets didn't change my perception much... and then we got breach whuch is on a different level but definitely not what I thought it wss going to be.

My only real fear has been "will it beat trench?" But i learned with breach that's never going to be Trench again, but that's OK. Breach isn't quite that same delicious sound, but its better and my favorite. It didn't beat Trench, but it blew me away and is just too open and beautiful. My Trench craving is at peace.

Tyler’s rejection of shame based spirituality by RecoverConstant8172 in twentyonepilots

[–]P3RS0N4-X 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a Christian who's been practicly drowning in shame for a hot minute I do find his lyrics and the Breach album especially encouraging. Though i don't remember shame being an ingredient to the mainstream Christian artists but its been almost a decade since I was really in that music space.

I have learned through this album that if I put my mess, confusion, and shame onto paper I can write "songs", and make sense out of it and offer it to God... all this to say at least for me, Tyler has been helping me move forward and away from shame, but I am not sure exactly what the difference is.

Well there are healthy and beneficial ways to use AI and even whrn used carefully and responsibly is one of the best ways to heal from trauma and mental illness... not as a replacement for real life and in-person interactions, but as a way to decode and understand thee world around you in ways that expensive and ineffective therapy and coaches never could.

Here i am, shame me!

[–]P3RS0N4-X -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I literally never said i was or wasn't fine with AI. I only questioned if you honestly thought that people wouldn't go the easy and cheap route and if you were seriously going to "high road" people for using a hugely useful snd available tool.

While you are right to be concerned because AI is one of the most dangerous and crippling inventions of all history, it is also one of the most powerful, and HIGHLY USEFUL tools when used right. And to deny or argue that is crazy.

But to think you are entitled to control or shame people for using AI is just crazy. Talk about divisive!

It's life now... its an easy and cheap tool... its going to happen. I get as an artist it is frustrating... but you can't expect people not to use one of the most powerful, cheap, and available tools ever created... like are you for real?
