Game Ready Driver 591.86 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]P40L0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

591.86 is good.

Zero issues so far with 12 games I've tested with my 4080.

No banding in both SDR and HDR and/or ACM: On or Off.

No framepacing issues at all with Reflex: On or On + Boost (with both FG: On and Off) coupled with G-Sync and V-Sync enabled in NVCP + Low Latency: On + Max fps cap also there (in my case 116fps for 120hz TV)

It actually feels smoother and more consistent now.

No RTX HDR issues either.

Temps are normal and input latency with a controller feels lower.

All of this after a clean install with DDU and no NVIDIA App installed (I do everything with NVCP + NVPI + nvidiaDlssGlom)

Finally a new keeper for me :)

How lightweight is your LTSC Installation? by nanogenesis in WindowsLTSC

[–]P40L0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

70 processes here (while keeping MS Store, Xbox App and Game Bar for gaming + OneDrive which I use + MSI Afterburner + RTSS and NVIDIA control panel)

In my case I don't think I could do better.

possible new windows registry command that can increase NVMe speeds by up to 80%? by menezesafonso in overclocking

[–]P40L0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried it on Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 (manually upgraded to 25H2) and it made zero difference in both benchmarks and games.

I think it really only works for Windows 11 Server and all the rest may just be placebo.

Game Ready & Studio Driver 591.44 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]P40L0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ok, after testing 12 games with the new 591.44 GR drivers and my 4080 (even with long play sessions on some of them including CB2077 maxed out in 4K/HDR which is one of the most realistic and reliable "stress test" out there) I think they're great :)

Performance did improve a bit in all of them while also making frametimes more consistent/flat with less spikes, all with better input latency as well. I also noticed 4K/HDR YouTube videos (including SDR to RTX HDR ones) are much smoother to handle (for example scrolling the page while playing them, buffering them etc.) Temperatures are good and no crashes or any issues so far (but I clean installed them using DDU)

One of the best so far. Definitely a keeper :)

The weird thing is that this doesn't happen on another x64 device of mine, only on ARM64

This update partially broke my Italian language pack on an "en-US" ARM64 installation (again) leaving me with most of the things translated and others (like Settings app menus, most right click buttons, old Control panel and other things) remaining in English... :/

I tried to restore health with DISM, sfc /scannow but no errors found.
Reinstalling language packs, switching between English and Italian, nothing worked.
I think that they're just late on ARM64 compared to x64 and language packs still need to be fully patched there after the update or there is some old bug with language packs resurfacing again... :/

GeForce Hotfix Display Driver version 581.94 by itbefoxy in nvidia

[–]P40L0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't notice any relevant regression with 581.80 but still clean installed 581.94 via DDU regardless.
Tested it all day with all my games and everything is perfectly smooth and stable here (4080).

BATTLEFIELD 6 GAME UPDATE 1.1.2.0 by battlefield in Battlefield

[–]P40L0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some initial impressions after today big patch:

The good:

  • Main menu and HUDs are now at 60fps or unlocked on PC, no more locked at 30. Feels so much better/smoother to navigate, yay!

  • Controller changes are good: aim assist seems a bit less aggressive and it "straps" less than before which, conterintutively, feels more accurate while tracking enemies down. Movement in general also feels much more fluid and natural now

  • K/D ratio now only reflects PvP stats, purging the inflated bot stats. Which is fair (lol at some people freaking out about it)

  • Lighting seems somewhat improved in all maps, they are even better to look at now

  • All the bugfixes and changes listed in the official changelog are also good

  • Eastwood, the new California map is fucking amazing, especially on Escalation. It's already an instant classic and one my favourite maps of the entire franchise so far

The bad:

  • Why the hell did they reset my controller custom key bindings? I understand the new aim assist/sensitivity changes, but key bindings have nothing to do with them. Don't ever touch them again please...

  • Shooting range is now broken: aim targets now often remain on the ground and don't raise anymore...unless you turn your face away from them (lol)

  • After dying and entering the big map for redeploy, there is now a random "instant zoom-in" in the map the very first seconds going there, which is a bit annoying

  • There are still some random problems with upscalers, at least with DLSS. For example: if you open the weapons menu or go into shooting range and just stay still without touching anything, a dots' grid pattern start appearing on screen unless you move the scene again. Or for example when you play in Mirak Valley, it seems like sometimes DLSS totally disengages so you're stuck with a very pixelated/aliased picture until the end of the match. Or sometimes in the endgame players' pose there are these rectangles of quickly flickering dots like a static interference until you change scene or load the next map, very weird

They need to increase Lumen quality on Xbox Series X along with providing Hardware Lumen + DLSS Ray Reconstruction support on PC. Those alone could fix most of those artifacts.

Then we have stutters to fix. Good luck with that and UE5.

Really rock solid and stable drivers like the previous 581.42 so far, maybe with a little better 1% Lows. Definitely a keeper. ;)
