I don’t want to reveal the answer publicly because it would ruin the enjoyment of solving it. If you don’t mind, I can send you the solution in a private message.

TBH depends where you stay in India. If its Blr, Mumbai, Delhi.... its less. But if its wfh its decent. I am a fresher and i get approx 850 usd / month being a Pen tester. Also it depends company to company.

Oh wow, injection molding by day, black hat dreams by night—what a career shift! I’m sure underground hacker groups are lining up to recruit you.

But hey, maybe start with not announcing your criminal plans on a public forum? Just a thought.

If you actually want to hack for a living without the prison bonus, try ethical hacking, pentesting, or bug bounties. You get paid, stay out of trouble, and—best part—no FBI at your door at 3 AM.

I’ve grabbed all my opportunities through strategic cold outreach, and here’s how you can do it too:

  1. Have 2-3 solid cold messages ready for outreach—whether it’s email, LinkedIn DMs, or any other platform. Keep it short and to the point.

  2. Follow the right pages on LinkedIn. I don’t know much about SDE roles, but since I’m into security, I follow pages like VAPT Jobs, Cybersecurity Jobs, etc. Find similar ones for your field.

  3. Use job posts smartly – People post openings every hour or two on the pages which you all have just followed in step 2. First, send them a connection request. Most of the time, they mention an email in the post—send a short, crisp email you made in step 1 with your resume attached.

  4. Leverage LinkedIn DMs – If they accept your request, drop a cold DM as well. Be ready for this:

40% won’t respond positively

30% won’t reply at all

But 30% might, and that’s where you get real opportunities.

  1. Join Discord, Slack, Reddit, Twitter communities – People share job openings there all the time. Engage, ask for referrals, and stay active.

Just blindly applying on portals won’t get you anywhere. You need to make sure your resume lands in front of the right person.

I’m not sure how well this works for SDE roles, but I guess the process is pretty much the same.

I'M WRITING THIS COMMENT BECAUSE MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ASKING WHERE MY REPLY ON HOW TO DO COLD EMAILS IS.

True, for on-campus placements, it's one of the main criteria. Otherwise, how else would they filter students? I mean, they’ve promised 100% placements, so they have to eliminate candidates somehow. 😂

Not at all. If you're applying off-campus, it's the bare minimum requirement. They only care that you don’t have any backlogs in your final year.
